No XL, Coker, or Jimmy - only 1 reliable downfield threat guys.  Bryce had some doinks, but his lone deep ball was on the money for the 2nd straight week and Tet couldn't haul it in one-handed.  Yall need to chill - could definitely be better but seriously you expected the gameplan with 2 OL and 3 deep WR's out that we would be throwin bombs?

we prefer to complain about not throwing it 11 times into double coverage downfield

Completing passes more than 5 yards is now akin to throwing into double coverage "downfield" and "throwin bombs".

Guys. You are in a cult. Full stop.

The falcons were near the top of the league in sacks and pressure rate coming into this game, we just lost two starting lineman. I think this week whole gameplan was to get rid of the ball as fast as possible and not turn it over.

Outside a few miss throws to Renfrow Bryce executed that gameplan

If that isn't the game plan every single week then Dave needs to go. It's the only thing we can really do with Bryce super computer Young

Did you watch other games yesterday. I didn't see the chart for Mahomes for example but he played small ball most of the day outside of a few tosses down the field on 50-50 balls his receivers made him look good. Truth is that a smart quarterback takes what the defense gives them and that is what we did. Once we had a lead it was about ball control and just methodically going down the field. It is crazy you win by 30 points and you still have haters trying to diminish what we did and complain.  Honestly I think keeping their negative agenda seems more important than the team winning and playing well.

Actually teams are seeing that TMac is the only receiver who is a threat downfield at least so far  and they are shifting coverage to him so it is true he was getting more double coverage . We don't have enough true downfield receivers who can stretch the defense. Legette has been invisible so far.

Its so weird for people to think we should have been throwing more bombs in a game we won 30-0 and controlled the los.  I love big passing numbers and deep balls as much as the next fan, but in this situation it would have been crazy throwing bombs after we had a comfortable lead.  We also only threw it 24 times, 4 attempts of around 20 yards or more in a game youre winning comfortably and out of 24 attempts is totally fine.  As exciting as you would like?  Maybe not, but using football intelligence?  Yes.  Some people are going to find any reason to be mad, even if they use no context to the stats.  P.s. dont forget two of our starting lineman went to IR before this game so it would make sense to push the short and intermediate passing game until you get comfortable with what you've got.

I truly can't remember that last time we played with a lead the entire game.

Totally not surprised that most of his passes were short when your trying to bleed clock and preserve a lead. The defensive takeaways helped considerably and kept the offense in keep away mode for most of the second half, when you'd most likely expect to see chunk plays if the game was close or your trying to make up points.

I'm happy taking the W this week and letting Bryce have the day off from all the negatives.

For the haters, there's always next week..

    • yeah but whats a drop, because at this point bryce defenders point to anything that hits a part of the receivers body as a drop  like when renfrow had to stop and twist and reach behind himself yesterday are we calling that a drop? because that's a terrible throw. Just because someone can get a paw on it doesn't mean it should have been caught or wasn't a bad throw  and his defenders get so caught up in this that they ignore the simple fact that this kind of production is just what the panthers have gotten from the QB position since he's been here, and that stretches across multiple coaching staffs and wide receiver rooms.  What's the common factor in three years of 12/25, 125 yards, maybe a TD, maybe a lost fumble, maybe an interception, around 20 points scored when things are going well
    • We'll see. I mean, I don't see us winning many games where we barely throw for under 130 yards and 0 TDs. So I'm not worried about that. If we end up with a better than expected record then Bryce will have to put up significantly better numbers.
    • Go watch his call placement to Renfrow on the year.   Or basically every WR that isn’t an eraser like TMac who can just pull of some insanity.   he should have a high completion % given where a mass % of his throw locations are
