Mostly because once a huddler establishes a position and someone disagrees, it become a contest to win the argument and a reputation to save. Justifying their position  becomes more important than the Panthers or the players since their ego and position on this message board is being challenged. That is why few people actually have an open mind or are willing to change their opinion.

I want fans to try and look at players the way a coach would.  These guys made it to the NFL.  There is talent and skill that got them there.  Even past busts had skills, pros and cons, etc.

If I read a scouting report that is nothing but positive or nothing but negative, that is a huge red flag.  It's mind numbing what mountain some pick to die on like Bryce not having the "ability" to throw downfield.  That he literally can't do it when there is video of him easily tossing balls between 40 and 50 yards.   I've had too many arguments against things that are just not factual at all.

He can throw downfield but it is very inaccurate or badly thrown.
But Bryce has way more issues than if he can or cannot throw downfield.

Sigh.  Here we go again.

Quote

When throwing deep, which is 20 or more air yards on the pass, Young was able to deliver a catchable ball on 60% of his attempts, which ranked 10th in the NFL. He was "highly accurate" on those throws 37% of the time, also good for 10th among his peers.

Sure, Young missed some deep shots. He missed 40% of them, but that was ranked 14th in the NFL, so he missed no more or less than the standard NFL QB in that sense. He was also "highly accurate" when targeting an open receiver 47% of the time on deep throws, which was good enough to be 13th in the NFL.

He has to lead game winning drives when it matters  in the nfl, these days, it is all about the QB

end of story

can you honestly see him ascending to a top 10 qb in the nfl ?

scouting reports are about potential and sometimes probability and tendencies

sundays in the nfl is about production and wins and nothing else  can the qb do it or not

i want to see him lead a win against a top 10 team…..when it matters

When does a GWD matter?

It feels insane to have to ask that, but a few posters seem to think that GWD's aren't legitimate unless they're in the postseason.

The article you linked is based entirely on that stretch of games last year where he played like an average starter instead of one of the league's worst QB's. It's a puff piece. And it's already been blown out of the water with Bryce's play through the first two games. Beyond that Bryce is barely at 60% completion with 30+ starts so the "highly accurate" label is fantasy at this point. He throws a ton of 50/50 balls due to his mechanics too.

Bryce has 1 anomaly game to his career 33 game career.  That's it.

I think if you look at his deep throws paired w/ Canales and omit that one game that just makes zero sense....

Bryce is like 5 for 24 when going 20+ yards w/ 3 INTs.   And keep in mind, prior to that week 18 game folks were claiming he was the best deep passer in the league lol because of how PFF chooses to reward a contested ball.
