Wait, how did this turn into a CJ vs. Bryce debate?

There isn't 5 pages worth of discussing AT in Min. I think it just happened the normal way, someone brought up Bryce being at fault in reference to past AT/current WR performance and then the anti-Bryce contingent started in on the homers.

Pretty much the usual.

Actually the first post that seems to have been negative was about the Texans dropping to 0-4. For once none of us negative nancies about Bryce initially derailed the thread. Then things went into the predictable comparison of only the last half season of games for both QBs...

Yeah, upon review, this is correct.

Lots of people keep getting this story about as wrong as can be, IMO.

This smelled of "happy wife, happy life."

Took a pay cut to take a lesser role in a place he and his wife would rather be.

I would imagine he wanted to retire a Viking, so it just is what it is.

It's also why I said he was much more valuable to us than them, which is still 100% true.

He was all Bryce had here. Just speaks to the lack of offensive fire power on this team.

Like when is the Huddle (collectively) gonna acknowledge that? I want BY to succeed because he's Carolina's QB, but I am NOT a BY supporter (in a vacuum). I didn't even want them to move up for a QB in 2023. I knew the team wasn't ready for a rookie QB, and that was with DJ Moore.

Roger, he played at Alabama with really good college talent. But the level of his college WRs compared to every WR this team has marched out there not named TMac is ridiculously sad! He had about 4 WRs from college that would be the #1 WR since coming to Carolina. Adam Thielen is your best option?! WTAF! And you're digging on the kid because he isn't putting up numbers? Just doesn't make sense to me. And coming into this season saying he had no excuses? That didn't age well. Not one bit.

That's true but that wasn't what you were implying nor what you were arguing.

I don't care one way or the othet because ultimately the W's and L's likely would remain the same.

I just get annoyed at this jilted lover/little brother Panther fan syndrome about guys that want to leave IF they were productive here. That feeling doesn't change the facts about thoss players(Luvu comes to mind).

I simply do not view Thielen at this point as a needle mover. If you or anyone else disagrees that's fine. That's what this place is for.

As far as former Panthers go I can agree we like most other fanbases tend to change our perception. But Luvu is still in his prime. Thielen is not.

Again though. It's fine to disagree. He isn't here anymore so it is all just fodder anyways.

You can at me bro. Don’t be scared. We bring CJ up because of YOU. That was your shining example of what Bryce was supposed to be. Bryce been better with less. You gotta hold that L. You’re just a bitter old man that wants to keep dunking on the QB and I’m not letting you run from none of your BS.

For one. That wasn't even in reference to you.

For two. I have no idea what you are trying to do here portraying yourself as someone others are scared of which is strange but okay. We're probably the same age. You can get in your feelings and lodge personal attacks all you want. People see you.

I already quoted you in a different thread and linked the two threads you've created in the last two years declaring Bryce Young a bust. It is beyond comical that you attempt to put up this facade like you are the only rational voice on Bryce Young. You've engaged in as much foolishness as anyone else on the huddle. Don't twist an ankle getting down off your high horse my friend. I hope you have a great day.

The issue with that "lightning in a bottle" is that's too close to Dilfer/Foles/Delhomme/etc for a top 5-10 QB contract. It's crippling to the roster eventually at that price tag. It's a pricier QB purgatory.

Bryce's ceiling was supposed to be a Brees type guy. Sees the field extremely well, makes quick decisions with the ball and analyzes the situation pre-snap at an elite level. None of this has transpired at all. Not to mention, his physical ceiling is far closer to a non-athletic Doug Flutie or poor man's Colt McCoy.

That is not a long term NFL QB.

I'm not advocating for it.  The Trevor scenario in today's NFL is horrible given what you have to pay that caliber of QB.  It's better to either hit a homerun and get the next tier QB or bust on a pick.  You just have to move on quick from the bust.   We should of moved last year.

I don't think there is any point talking about what the talk was when Bryce was drafted.  He is nothing like Brees.  Especially a young Brees.

Depends on what you view as a needle mover. I think the offense would be definitively better with AT involved. Better enough to string together a bunch of wins? Highly unlikely.

Luvu didn't want to be here. Which, coincidentally, neither in the end did AT.

Well, that is the point. That WAS the sell.

That isn't what we ended up getting.

if you give good QBs, an OL and run game.....they make WRs.  I mean, there is a long list of that occurring over and over and over.  Again.  Check the sales pitch for why we drafted Bryce.  That was the salespitch because it is a reality.  He just isn't it.  Sure, you want to give every QB a crazy weapon.  But most good QBs go through windows with meh talent and they aren't bottom barrel offenses because of the QB.

Outside of Jameson Williams who are these super pass catchers he had at Bama? His season at Bama is starting to look a bit more impressive as time goes on

Metchie, Burton, Brooks, Latu, Bond, Prentice, Bolden are the only guys I can think of. None of them are doing anything now.

Finding a true TE1 or WR2 to go along with TMac to finally give Bryce 2 options in a single season needs to be a priority like yesterday
