Any well functioning team benches Bryce

It’s just the same song and dance with this guy. Every week I see people talk about one or two great throws he makes and how they can’t give up on him for that. But then he makes horrendous throws or commits horrendous turnovers. Next week same thing happens, he’s been doing this since his first game. It’s year three, I doubt it gets better now. It’s to the point where we are going keep putting him out there year after year and never accomplish anything, by year 7, people are going to be saying the same thing and the front office and 5th head coach he’s had will keep telling themselves, he just needs this WR or this OL or a running back to run for 250 yards instead of 206. We would know by now if he is going to be great or be the franchise, and it doesn’t look like that is happening.

I’m an optimist thru and thru. I love any win this team can muster, and Bryce did what he could to keep the team in it, but he’s why the team was out of it to begin with.

I like the guy, but he is not… he’s just not it… and I was swayed by the way he finished last season, but his physical limitations will never be overcome. A one arm tackle stopped him in his tracks en route for 6, among several other plays where an even average starter in the league succeeds.

A franchise QB is supposed to be his own cheat code. Bryce needs a cheat code dude, that is not him, to win. Chuba CARRIED (literally) his ass last season. Thielen bailed him out EVERY game he played in last season.

Today: Rico turned in one of the best games in franchise history, Tet was unguardable and put up at least 100 yards on his own (PI yards included),  and the defense basically pitched a shutout after going down big so they could beat one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Any time we win, or he plays well (not saying he played well this game, I think he played a bit above average after the first quarter), they go out of their way to make these posts.  It’s like they get nervous that fans are going to start thinking Bryce isnt the problem and that will somehow affect what the Panthers do personel wise.

Oh I gotcha. I’ve mostly been just avoiding the drama here. I watch the games and if we win I come here and celebrate.

God forbid a QB gets help from a supporting cast lol.

Wasn't this the whole argument for why CJ Stroud's rookie season was a fluke? But now it's different for Bryce when his running back has a career day because reasons?

We’re stuck with Bryce for now.  He led TWO drives where we came from behind to take the lead.

What does “led” mean here

When they went up 20-17 it was a 7 play, 85 yard drive. Bryce was 1/2 for 4 yards. Is that leading a drive?

Words matter. He did as much on that drive as I did.

Bruh I get it, but you have to give him credit for turning it around in the game and not give up.

That’s the hardest part with Bryce. He just can’t be consistently good. One min he looks like he doesn’t belong in the league and the next he looks like he’s showing signs.

but I feel like he was complimented today with a great run game which down the stretch made him look far better than had we not been able to establish the run.

One of the things I hate most about Bryce is how all these “big drives” require like multiple fourth down conversions, a bailout dpi, defenders not making tackles, etc.

Like bro this is a dolphins team that might not win another game this season why does every drive feel like the Normandy scene from saving private Ryan

    • Maybe it's because I played LT until some fat fug folded my knee, but I love watching footwork drills at the combine for olinemen. I call it fat man ballet. Base and balance are everything when it come to being a lineman. Everything starts there. Sure there's lateral movement, hip flex, bend, hand fighting, strength, push, etc, but without a strong base and good balance, the rest aren't happening. Those drills are specifically designed to show you things and they stand out big time if you're watching their feet and ankles. You can tell what doesn't feel like a natural movement. I remember watching Greg Little and I was blown away at how bad his footwork was. Like unbelievably bad. To the point I thought maybe he had never practiced one of these drills before. I remember when we drafted him, I thought to myself well fug, there's a wasted pick.  Aside from the added weight, I wonder if that's part of why Bryce didn't throw. Standing next to all the other QBs, that footwork and mechanics would stand out like a sore thumb, much more so than at a pro day. Bryce is good at some things, improvising and eluding and he does appear to have that clutch gene, but his throws get ugly when he tries to arm it instead of having that solid stead base to throw from.
    • He could be 6-9 and he would still suck with the issues he has.
