Dalton turned the ball over 4 times.

We had PLENTY of opportunities to run the ball.  Dalton's turnovers were bad, but they could have been avoided.

This whole "rotating possessions" crap is not only dumb, it is LAZY.  It speaks volumes about who Canales is as a head coach that he can't even make the effort to figure out when to use one or the other in a strategic way.

Yep

Buffalo was giving up 5.8 yards a carry this season.

They gave up 6.8 yards a carry to Dowdle in this game but instead of giving it to him 20 plus times we only ran him 8 and decided to give it to Chuba for 12 carries and 2.8 yards a pop.

Thus we faced alot of 3 and long and Andy being a statue he is could not get out of the way of the pressure.

I’ll get killed for this but he always sounded gay to me. Not necessarily not gay, but feminine.  I tried to say it in a more subtle way and still got killed for it last year. fug it I don’t care it’s an honest opinion. I didn’t let that disqualify him and have been very patient and non critical. I just wondered how the big tough guys in the locker room would respond to that.

But whatever, I think he thinks too much from the emotional side. The rah rah positive deal, what must it sound like if he gets mad? Where is the tough hard ass side? The no empathy, get the job done or get gone. I wonder about that. It mean I doubt there is a lot of fear of failure going on.

So anyway to other comments about he sucks and all that, I said I needed a better reason to change my stance on him, which has been give him time. Continuity is super important.
This thing with the running backs is eroding the goodwill.

I see we played the 31st rush D and Rico had 8 carries…..which tells me so much.  Hope all the folks who randomly were calling Canales a good playcaller/HC the other week reconsider such.

I will say.... I think the one thing most of the huddle has agreed on is that DC is a terrible coach. I haven't really seen anyone defend him and rightfully so

This is so much cope. Know damn well Andy Dalton was stinking it up. We were down by 3 scores playing catch up the rest of the game. Stop commenting when you didnt watch the game. Go find a new team. If BY was playing this would have been a super negative thread about BY.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
