That and I just don't think it would work. Do you really think Tepper would keep this place going if it was under his control? I mean, pretty much the only thing that everyone here fully agrees on is that Tepper sucks. LOL

Thats the other part of it... a team isnt gonna sponsor a site for people to poo on them. Especially this team.

Voth had to leave the Panthers cause they wanted all the in house media to create stories that effectively blew roses up ownerships butt.  They'd shut a place like this down in 10 minutes.  Tepper is quite the vain mother-flipper.

Reddit is fine. Been there for years. The issue with Reddit is more along the lines of maintaining decorum, good online manners, and being generally a nice person, even in the face of absolute stupidity from other posters. Don't let the trolls and idiots get under your skin, and don't overreact from down votes. As far as quality of discussions, it is very mixed, and overall, it is easier to be a Bryce Young fan there right now.

The Bryce fanbois there are annoying AF.

I assume a bunch of "Bryce only" guys.

I still hate they hired up Darin Gantt.  Gantt would have been GREAT covering the Tepper era from the outside.  From a fan perspective.  But I totally get why Tepper snatched him up and took him out of play.

I spend much of my time there down voting stupidity, and there is an over abundance of Bryce-promotion and Bryce-pedestaling. I like to think maybe they are just younger, less knowledgeable fans, but that might just be wishful thinking.

Any significant time on just about any social media platform makes you realize how the world has been trending the way it has. There are a lot more stupid people than most realized and now they have global clubhouses.

I know there’s a few guys from here that’s on Reddit. Basically, all the guys from here who have said this place is too negative or Bryce is talked about too much, has migrated over there.

I’ve been here since ‘08, and when the lights finally go out here, I’m done. I was a freshman in college when I started here, and now I’m a middle aged man with a a family.
From talking Panthers here, to even spending a few years posting heavy in the tinderbox; I really do enjoy this site. We all have different opinions which I like, and I love a good argument and discussions. Huddles been good to me

It's good that there's options. If people want nothing but warm and fuzzy rah rah stuff, they're better off at reddit or over on the discord channel that the some folks left for awhile back. We're never going to attempt to moderate and shape the viewpoints on this forum. I don't really understand the point of it if you try to do that. But to each their own. I'm just glad they have somewhere to go versus constantly coming to the Huddle to complain about how awful the Huddle is. LOL

That's one thing we will moderate. If your only purpose of being here is to constantly complain about how awful the Huddle is and how miserable it makes you then ultimately we'll step in to save your from yourself and your self torture to invite you to find some other place to hang out online.

Reddit is a groupthink machine.  It's great for getting information on questions that have actual answers.  Or getting the latest news on meme worthy internet happenings.  It's not good for discussion.

The upvote system makes it pointless to use.

100%. I can’t stand that. Besides arbitrarily burying under appreciated outside the box ideas it encourages groupthink.

That is why I could never warm to the place. I only hear about the way it is otherwise because I just can’t hang with the format. It seems really convoluted.

    • I hope Bryce balls out. Wouldn't bet the farm on it though. Morgan has to be practical though. He was placed into a situation where he was compelled to give Bryce a long look. There really haven't been any more practical options due to who has been available at the position. The Panthers had already put their chips in with Bryce, so putting more chips in by borrowing against the future and stacking on that by borrowing against the future without really having the requisite draft capital was a nonstarter. We could either dump Bryce and go dumpster diving for known and unknown JAGs at the position, or take out chances and let it play out with Bryce and hope for acceptable returns. Due to what looks like some good moves in the draft and free agency, it appears like we're finally getting into a position where we can take a swing again if need be without destroying the core of the team. I understand that you'll believe it when you see it, but Dan is gonna move on if Bryce can't cut it. There are too many professionals lives and careers tied to Bryce to simply accept the status quo.
    • Football is the ultimate team sport. No sport is more dependent on others for your success - including coaching. I don't know if Bryce is the guy, but I do know this has been a very bad team all around since he got here. One of the worst o-lines and coaching staffs I've ever seen his rookie year. One of the worst defenses and receiving groups (including TEs) I've ever seen his 2nd season - with a rookie HC and OC. An improving WR group his 3rd season mostly due to a rookie. The only other WR of note didn't really play well until after the 10th game of the season due to injury. Still no receiving TE to speak of. And lost games because of the worst pass rush in the NFL. And the only speed he's ever had on the field was DJ Chark. A washed up DJ Chark that played here one year and has had 31 yards receiving since leaving.  Carolina had no business moving up for a QB in 2023. They weren't ready. Especially if it meant trading your only good WR to do it. Now finally there's potential on defense. Potential on o-line. Potential at WR, including some actual speed in a game where speed kills. If BY falls on his face this season, then he has to own it. Situation may not be perfect, but it's at least NFL average across the board. I won't beat him up for being bad in bad situations on a bad team. But a 4th year QB has to be able to control the offense and make players/coaches right. The team looks good enough on paper to show what he can do now.
