I honestly feel that his kicker bailed him out on this one. Imagine the criticism he would get if Fitzgerald missed the kick and we actually lose. He had plenty of questionable decisions and poor game management at the end. Winning covers up a lot of blemishes.

What were the questionable decisions and poor management?

I agree.  I think the huddle is too hard on Evero.   His entire defensive plan is to get the other team into the red zone so he can hold them to a field goal.    I think we are a safety and a off ball linebacker away from a truly elite defense  and hopefully they open the purse for him in the next FA and Draft.

This is the only strategy that could possibly explain why were played off coverage the entire last drive. We gave them the entire field.

Anyone that knows anything about coaching (and especially anyone that has coached at anything above the peewee level), should be able to recognize the number most important thing:  Building culture.

We are seeing players improve, we certainly don't have the best roster but it is improving. We have been underdogs in every game but look at our record. After the last seven years, how in the world can we not give the guy in charge some credit?

I don't agree with all of his gametime decisions, personnel useage, at so forth, but I'm not at practices and watching film. But I can see the culture he is building, and I like it.

I question him and that culture and then I see the locker room after a win and those guys are bought in.

We're giving him credit for finally giving Rico the most touches when everyone in the country could see that for weeks?  His play calling to end the game was cowardly and a 49 field goal into the wind bailed him out.  Our defense won this game pure and simple.

For the first time in a long time, I feel my team can hang with any team in the league.

a lot of people forget that we hung neck and neck with the NFC South division champs, the super bowl runner up and super bowl champion at the end of last season too, with a much less talented team.

The nfc south champion blew us off the field at the end of last season.

if we can go into greenbay and win, no W is off the table

playoffs in sight

if you say otherwise, **** you

Completely agree that no W is off the table but considering some of our losses no L is off the table either… Team is inconsistent, not surprising for a young team finding its identity. 2 division games coming up, both games we should win but division games are always tough/weird. I’ll start believing we could be a playoff team if we take care of business these next 2 games. After that schedule gets tough again.

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
