Yeah I mean I do share your concern. But take Darnold for example. Everything you want in a QB but crumbles when the stakes get high. I don’t think that helps us either.

Bryce was cooking at the end of last year. I’m not sure what’s going on and why we’re not seeing that guy right now. My hope is maybe we see some of that this Sunday and open things up for a “should be” W.

He only cooked like once though, really cooked. He did the minimum ‘good’ in a couple of others. He hasn’t maintained that, or maybe I should say carried it over and built on it. Which is what you want to see.
He is just too limited athletically to unlock a pro passing offense. IMO. So you have to settle and compensate.

It is nice to win some games and feel better on Sundays. For sure.
Edit: PS, on Darnold… where do you think this team would be now with him taking the reins?
So maybe he doesn’t have it to win the Super Bowl but he can walk you into the division title pretty much.
Getting rid of a guy like that (which Minnesota did) is about like Snyder firing Marty Schottiemer (sp?) or maybe is was San Diego, after a 14-2 season because he lost in the playoffs.

And took the Rams offer for Burns and kept DJ Moore and not traded away the world for Bryce?

Kyler murray signed a 5 year 230 million dollar deal after his 4rth season (2022) where he made the playoffs once in those 4 years and played abysmal

His average, including injuries for those 4 years are below:

66% 21tds 3500yards 92qbr

Fast forward to Nov 2025  https://www.si.com/nfl/kyler-murray-cardinals-parting-ways-likely-imminent?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us

Hes owed roughly 50 and 40 million against the cap for the next 2 years.  fuging nuts, you are essentially tying your hands behind your back and trying to compete

I could do Tua as well but you guys get the point.

In closing, please for the love of God Teppers please dont put this franchise in a blender by extending Bryce.

Every time I think about Bryce's option, Murray is the dude that pops into my mind too (also Daniel Jones).  If Tepper doesn't want mediocrity, then why sign a QB whose ceiling is mediocre? Heck a strong rushing attack and elite defense with weak QB play only got the Bears a single title in the mid 80's where our defense is no '85 Bears and Dowdle ain't Walter Peyton.  Our recipe for success right now will win some games, but it's not a long term playoff winning scheme.  Why?  There will be games where our QB is asked to put the game on his shoulders and Bryce isn't that dude.

I having trouble understanding when he got his ext.  Was it after the 3rd or frth year?  They picked up the 5th and then gave him the ext?  2 sites are saying 2 different things?

Something is really wrong with the sport when you pay 50 and 60 million dollars for average players to play 17 games

I wish they would the price for everything and let the everyday people back into it, you can pay the players very well without it being crazy. It is crazy now.

We have a great opportunity to move on from the mistake that has crippled this franchise for the last three years.

Alas I feel like we're going to double down on it.

That was an atrocious pick

Yep. We killed the talent on this team throwing away 4 first picks, a few 2nds and Moore by keeping Burns one year too long and trading up for Young.

We look like an OK team but we are still not close to contending because our pass rush and QB are still bottom of the league.

    • LOL! We have ourselves a funny one over here.
    • That’s why I love Jake and always will.  He was so fuging gritty and definitely was a gunslinger.  Like a not-quite-poor-man’s Brett Favre.  Like an economy version lol.  He was damn good.  Yeah, he’d throw a pick here or there, but more often than not, I trusted Jake.  He’d make some throws that really made you think, “damn, he’s even better than I thought.”  I loved that he loved to gamble, but more importantly, he gave his guys a fuging chance to make a play.  When people have been criticizing Tet for drops, it pisses me off, because they say it like these are some gimmes that he’s dropping.  but, at about 6’5”, if your whole body is moving one way and you have to stop or slow down to come back to a ball thrown behind you, or low, that poo is not easy.  Bryce isn’t really giving him a chance, and I can see why he’s dropping them.  Versus if you look at this highlight reel of Moose: at about halfway through is when Jake stepped in.  The passes he was throwing are CRAZY.  There’s multiple passes in there where he is throwing across his body while running the opposite way - and he still had the strength to get it on target.  Then there’s the throws where he lasers it in a spot only the receiver could get it - seam routes, out routes, over the top. The longer you watch, the more obvious it is that so many of these (what should be basic) throws are completely absent from our offense with Bryce.  There was a play today where he started to scramble, kept looking, looking, looking, then just threw it into the ground near the receiver.  Let them make a fuging play.  His best pass of the day?  The long one to Tet?  If you re-watch it. About 10-15 yards further downfield, XL smoked his man on a post route.  You get maybe 3 chances at that a game usually, and when you don’t even attempt it when it’s there?  That poo is so demoralizing.  I can’t wait for Bryce’s time here to be fuging over.  If they cut him tomorrow I would feel free.  I would feel like I just won the fuging powerball.  If they signed Heineke, Perkins, White, PJ Walker, or Hooker to start the rest of the year, I would be fuging ecstatic like we just trotted Cam out for the first time.  That how fuging life-sucking Bryce is as the QB.
    • Aren't they about the same size too? Why TF are teams all of sudden drafting these small ass QBs that have an EXTREMELY low hit rate at an already extremely low hit rate position?
