I wish Jones was a pending FA but he signed a two year deal with SF. Signing someone like Jones AND Howell would be the perfect vet additions. Jones is the steadier, safer bet. Howell is the riskier play, but has the higher ceiling. Then I'd STILL keep my options open in the draft.

Jones would be what he is if he was on this team, a fairly middle of the road game manager. Still and upgrade but probably not worth the price the 49ers may want for him.

If it's not something stupid in terms of ask and he doesn't want something even more stupid in terms of longish term contract, I am okay with a middling game manager until we can do better through the draft.

The one thing that wouldn't be terrible is some stability at QB. That has almost never happened under Tepper.

Okay, so you really haven't watched this season. That makes a lot of sense.

Damn dude, you really are a Clemson super homer.

I mean A+ for effort boss.  You doing a victory lap with no victory shown lol.

saying Renfrow should only make the roster over Moore or that today he likely serves more purpose for Bryce than Horn (if it’s a Bryce convo)….isn’t a example of Clemson homerism.   Nor is pointing out BTJ has sucked this entire season and especially before his in season shoulder injury.

And I consistently call Trevor operating with a PJ Walker operating system brain that dates back to Clemson.  You manifesting the over the top homerism here lol

Most of drops are hospital balls by Trevor. He developed alligator arms

I mean they weren’t.  Dude was getting roasted by everyone early this year.  It’s a simple google.  It’s not my creation lol.

now will Trevor leave someone hanging? Every now and then. Dude is more PJ Walker between the ears than Peyton

Decided to look into BTJs struggles... From earlier this year:

"Now, we've all seen the term "hospital ball" get thrown around concerning Thomas Jr. and his QB Trevor Lawrence. Let's get one thing clear: not every in-breaking route is a hospital ball. Tough catches over the middle are going to happen for even the best receivers in the NFL, they're going to get hit on digs and over routes, especially with NFL defenses playing more aggressive quarters coverage with the safety driving on dig routes hard."

Talks about him breaking off routes mid field too.

Jags have 6 receivers at 9.7% drop rate or higher.

There are tons of articles breaking BTJ’s bad play down this year.  Specifically him shying away and giving up.  Especially early this year.  That’s when he was at his worst.    Hell, he has been better post “injury”.

and the entire BTJ break out was all Mac.  Not Trevor.  Those are polar opposites throwing the ball.

BTJ has sucked this year.  Just a fact.  People defending him and claiming others don’t watch is just silly.   And for the record, the guy who says Trevor has a PJ Walker brain doesn’t want Trevor lol.  I also had to talk sense into people when half the board wanted Watson lol.   Not sure what the spin attempt elsewhere in the thread is about lol.

If you adjust for drops Trevor is still bottom third in most categories.

I have a good friend who’s a really knowledgeable jags fan and she says overall he’s just mid. Jags have a ton of problems that he can’t overcome. Plus he’s never been the same since the injury against Houston. Throwing motion changed and everything.
