Defense in the 2nd half

Glad the D held them to 6 points in the 2nd half, but let's also recognize that the Falcons dropped like 5 passes in the 2nd half/OT. I started rooting for ATL to screw up more than us to make a play on defense because I don't think our D really did that much in the 2nd half

The pressure is awful. You really feel that lack of pressure against a good QB. I hope Purdy doesn’t tear us up but SF has good coaching so I’m ready to be exploited.

The “lack of” was more noticeable in this game than the last few weeks.  Not sure why, but ATL blocked everything up really well, and just from memory, it didn’t seem like we sent much extra pressure outside of 4.  We will definitely need more of it against SF.  They’ll be getting the ball out quick and Purdy is annoyingly elusive and mobile.

Also, again, I really want to see Princely get more reps.

Lost in all the hype for the offense is the praise the defense deserves for keeping Bijan and London in check in that second half.

Bijan had like four second half carries because they split his reps with Algier.

And yeah losing a starter will negatively impact a wr, especially when he’s hurt.

    • All the Canes (except Miller) are now dominating offence zone time and with a smothering defense, can you imagine what a juggernaut they would be with an elite goalie, they have to hold teams to less than 15 SOG to win most games.  Can they keep this up in the playoffs?
    • Start the mental gymnastics. Offering top money to the top guys and they still say no
    • And they mention some other guys who probably wouldn’t be first rounders or even second rounders but sound interesting.  I would be hoping to identify some more of that.    What he said about Conception does fit the profile of what elements I think the 3rd guy should bring. But I still think we can get that without spending yet another first round pick.   Canales has some receiver roots before the QBs. Ditto Idzik. Put that poo to use and find us someone outside the obvious 1st round suspects that every average fan can see.
