Now the question is:  why weren’t they already doing that?

Maybe they wanted him to learn one position before throwing too much at him. Also I think Tmac is a step below the best of the best wrs but has a real shot to be a top 10 wr for the foreseeable future

It’s interesting bc I had started getting these videos popping up on my Facebook feed like Saturday from these guys, I think they’re with nbc sports, but they’re supposed to be knowledgeable guys who break down film and the first video I saw was them pretty much trashing our receiving corps and one of the things they said about TMac was that he only lines up at X.  Welp…

I think thats the more likely answer, they wanted to have him focus on that role most likely.  The more you diversify his route tree the more complicated it gets for a rookie, but I think him doing it so well this week has shown that he absolutely can get and excel at that.  look for a lot more going forward.

Makes me wonder. Yesterday was a rare day when our receivers didn't just get open and make catches but also get YAC. Was part of that reason because we were rather static on where we lined up our guys until now, especially with who is effectively our best receiver? In other words, we surprised the Falcons by exploiting matchups far more than we had before?
