Remaining Schedule

Recommended Posts

So we have a pretty tough schedule for the remainder of the season.  I believe I saw where it's the toughest remaining schedule in the league.  To even think about the playoffs we IMO have to, at minimum, win three of the remaining six.

49ers - We will have to play an amazing game to win this one.  We are down to backups at LB (at least for now) and Kittle is probably going to have a big day.  CMC must not go off on us.  PFF had a pregame analysis and actually the two guys running the show were split on who wins.  They even said it was disrespectful to the Panthers to be 7pt underdog.  Evero is going to have to have a great gameplan.   I'm on the fence but this game is in SF and I think we lose.

Rams - We're at home that is about the only advantage I see in this game.  LA is one of the best offenses in the league and I just don't think we have the firepower to beat them.  The only way we win is if we can control the clock and keep LA's offense off the field.

Saints - We have to go into this game on a mission.  WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME.  Hopefully, Canales has a better gameplan and we win.  This is a very winnable game.

TB x 2 - The only chance, IMO, of winning the NFCS is we have to win both games.  Many talking heads say TB is faltering some and can be had.  By week 15 and 17 we should be hitting on all cylinders.  If we win, it's going to have to be a pretty mistake free.

Seahawks - they have a very tough defense, and I think we get shut down.  Our only hope is to pressure Darnold into mistakes like he did this past weekend with 4 INTs.  As with the Rams we are going to have to keep this a low scoring game.

My hope is

49ers- Win

Rams - Loss

Saints - Win

Bucs@Home - Win

Seattle - Loss

Bucs@TB - Loss

9-8 Record

My Fear

49ers-Loss

Rams-Loss

Saints-Win

Bucs@home - Loss

Seahawks - Loss

Bucs@TB - Loss

7-10 record

To me it isn’t even about the playoffs. If things go well, maybe the playoffs happen but it isn’t the primary goal for me.

Getting proof one way or the other on this QB is the biggest prize we could win. If we don’t get that, we have a bad offseason coming up.

If history is any guide, whether it's a game or a season, Bryce turns it up a level towards the end. He's like Seabiscuit (an undersized racehorse, go figure); he just needs to be neck and neck with his opponent on the home stretch, and then he'll lead the team to victory. So if that's the kind of player he is, then he needs to over-perform now.

Setting franchise records is cool and all, but I think we all know he's not the kind of QB who's going to have us up by 2 or 3 scores at any point during the game. So if he's a closer, and that's his identity, then in order for Bryce to be considered our QB of the future, an outcome like your first scenario is what we have to see now.

It will be whatever it will be. We could very well go out and lose every single game down the stretch, we could go out and win every game too.

And it probably won’t be either.  It all goes to the QB question and our future, long term, for me. Over whether we get the honor of being Cinderella one and done.
