Official Week 12: Panthers @ 49ers Gameday Thread

What kills me is they didn’t even go to a fast pace. If they had quit running the clock down to two seconds every time before snapping the ball they could afford to do some running plays. But when your just waking your time every freaking play of course you gotta constantly pass because your pissing the clock away. Canales is trash!

It was a timing route and Tmac got held but Bryce still sucks but that wasn't his fault.

It was his fault, he always telegraph his throws. Thats how he can get anything down field. Gotta throw it to a spot, he doesn't have the talent to put the ball on the receivers chest that far down the field.

Well can’t put that on Bryce. SF held.

Who knows. S was cheating likely could have blown the play up.  Ss cheat all game on Bryce.  He should have been picked earlier.  All evens out.

the arena league QB needs to go

I hate Bryce but the just showed the blatant hold/pass interference that allowed that int

I saw it too, but he still threw it to a spot that would’ve been contested regardless and still likely picked.  Brown was just sitting there.

The defender didn’t grab Tets arm?

It’s not just that, every mistake is an excuse and it’s been like that all year. Every easy pass they talk it up like it’s some great pass, he can never do anything wrong.

I hesitate with Canales because he was saddled with with the worst QB possible. It was an impossible situation for anyone.

But I don’t give a poo right now.
If giving Canales papers means Bryce is gone? Go for it.

I pied this before reading the second half lol. DC does dumb poo, especially in this game but he has/had this team in the playoff hunt this late into the year with a complete handicap at QB. I think he's earned a chance to run it back with his own QB.

    • He has one or two reads at best. This being the guy we drafted for this "processing speed". He just does not see the blatantly obvious open receiver ever. Just forces it into his first or second progression.
    • Well don't worry, I'm sure you'll get plenty more chances.
    • I don’t really want to give up on Canales because the team is getting better since he took over. I do think that is more due to Morgan than him. I think he needs to get his 3rd year for sure. I was okay with firing Rhule after his 2nd year because of the dysfunction and him really just being a dumbass. It was clear he hit his ceiling. I was okay with firing Reich because it was very clear he did not give a single poo anymore.    Other than Canales having to work with Bryce, the other issue is the job wasn’t attractive at the time, and Tepper wanted an Offensive Coach. Dave was just learning how to be an OC in Tampa when he became a HC here, he’s still learning to be an OC really and who knows maybe he will be a good one someday. He’s 11-18 with 5 games left. Rivera was 13-19 and even Shanahan was 10-22 after his first two seasons.    Year 3 will be telling for DC.
