Give Legette another season?

Am I remembering correctly that Nicole Tepper put pressure on Canales to trade up to get XL?  Seems like there was a video being played during the draft that showed her asking Canales 'would you trade up to draft a player I like'.  Canales had a funny look on his face, like I cannot believe this.  And they traded up and got the roadkill chef.

Guy has the height and the size to be a force. Should they give him some more time to develop? Are you all giving up hope?  Will another off season help if he applies himself? Maybe better suited for the TE position?

I think another season to improve and he can turn the corner.

What do u think?

No

No. Dan and Dave had XL locked in. Nicole only asked if he was still their guy.

I want to see XL catching more footballs and acting in no commercials.

I hated the pick when we made it.  He just isn't a starting NFL WR.  Physically he's what you would draw up but he just lacks the basic fundamentals at the position.  I don't think he has any real trade value I suspect he will still be here next year.  The only WR's that are locks to me though are Tet and Coker.  I do think we need to inject some more speed into our WR room.  Or at least someone twitchy who is an excellent route runner.

We have speed in the room. We need skill in the room. All our "fast" guys are super low on skill.

Skill beats speed 95% of the time.

They need to use him more like Deebo Samuel. XL can’t thrive in a traditional role and we’ve all seen this he needs to be more of a gadget guy.

They have tried. He stinks at it. He is not elusive or quick at all. He is straight line fast.

Not to mention he generally lacks instincts and vision as a runner.

We need juice I get you want someone with skills but if you don't have someone who can separate the skills get diminished a little.  There is nobody on this offense that actually scares an opposing team not even Tet.  Tet is very skilled but the lack of breakaway speed makes it easier to defend him.  Tet and Coker make some great catches at times but how often do you see them make a great catch in space they created.  They are usually always blanketed.

XL is the player we are talking about. He has the speed to blow the top off a defense and he has to be accounted for. Notice how little effort they have to expend accounting for him versus Tet.

Larry Fitzgerald was not fast. DeAndre Hopkins was not fast. Jerry Rice was not fast.

Did that matter?

Skill beats speed 95% of the time. Do yourself a favor and go combine to combine sorting 40 times and then look at career productivity. What quickly becomes evident is all those 40 time gold and silver medalists rarely make any NFL impact.

Again, skill beats speed 95% of the time.

Get SKILLED players.
