Dave Canales killing me with his play calling!

The playcalling today was super sus. I don’t know if it was the gameplan or the defense being very good. The Seahawks were daring them to throw deep as most teams do to the panthers offense and they had zero answer

They just did their 10 minutes of film prep and realize none of our routes go past 10 yards.

See... Both Saints games. They played the exact same way as NO

I cannot make this more clear. We can fire Canales we can fire Evero we can fire the entire staff and start all over from scratch....again. But no coach alive or dead is going to be able to change Bryce Young's physical limitations. All of these issues revolve around the fact that he is NOT a franchise QB.

I'm not advocating for his firing. This is the best the Panthers have been in a long time. We are trending upward. Just talking about the game plan on offense today. Did we EVER think Rico was going to run for 200 yards today against Seattle's defense?

Didn’t watch his presser but did anyone ask him about the decision to dump it off at the end of the half instead of at least trying to score points with a Hail Mary from the 50? If we can’t throw deep desperation heaves nor attempt 4th and inches with our starting QB, he probably shouldn’t be a starting QB.

They should have.  And they should of brought back up the Tommy Tremble dink the last time we found ourselves in a clear cut Hail Mary scenario to end a half that matched this play selection

Bryce throws 18 check downs and it’s the play call?  Ok.  You guys are something else.

Seriously. There are two options and people choose the brain rotted one. 1) Bryce is some QB god that is just waiting to explode all this hidden potential all over the football field, BUT we have this idiot head coach who somehow can't call go, post, or seam routes OR 2) Bryce fuging sucks and Canales is scheming the best he can to account for that.

Hmm...

There's a third option...

Rico could have run for 100+.

Rico is a volume RB.  He is a better RB today than Hubbard.  Not a Hubbard diss. And Dave has ensured Rico never gets his volume to go off ever since he was critical publicly of Dave Canales

I don't want Canales fired but he's definitely opened the door to a fair amount of skepticism and criticism for some things.

As far as Rico Dowdle goes I was thrilled with how well he had been playing earlier in the season but I questioned the sustainability of it myself. And it was by no means the first time a lesser known RB came out of nowhere and put up great numbers. It's why the position is so plug and play now. And we see Chuba has came back down to Earth as well following a very productive season last year. And the elephant in the room is it took the Panthers having the highest paid OL in the league in order for both of them to put up the numbers that they did.

In terms of the lack of running game all around right now it leads to not just a question of the gameplan and the playcalling but to a question of how do we establish the run anyway with such a pathetic passing game? I mean that's a basic building block of modern football. You pass to setup the run and vice versa. We need to see this offense with a QB who isn't Bryce Young or Andy Dalton.

The Seahawks are flat out a better team, better coached and more talented roster. Our o-line got manhandled, they couldn’t run block or pass protect.

If Canales thinks we can win with throwing checkdowns and breaking tackles it’s not gonna happen vs this Seattle defense. I don’t think they missed a tackle the entire game
