Who is our legit backup/starter for next year?

I still say throw the Giants a 5th round pick for Jameis, draft a QB day 3 in the draft, and be scouting what QB we want for the 2027 draft

Zero percent chance Dalton is back. Some of y'all have let this team traumatized you into excessive pessimism.

Realistically Bryce is probably back as the game 1 starter, but with a backup who is legit competition for the job and a developmental guy from the draft. Most importantly, there will be an agreement from Tepper on down that Bryce can lose the job.

Which he will by game 5.

I doubt they would do it....dont throw spitballs at me...but I wonder if we'd kick the Deshaun Watson tires.  If Canales is the QB wisperer he was billed as and Watson can somehow rehab any semblance of a career he'd make a good option.

BTW I understand everything but if our front office digs into all the allegations and finds him atleast reclaimable, his physical talent is undeniable...when healthy and not distracted.  He's a clemson guy so could be a "come home" thing where he'd have more in grown local support than any other franchise by a mile.  I dont think he will be, but I could see him being a Michael Vick type situation.

Give me one of Sam Howell, Malik Willis, or Marcus Mariota. My preference is in that order.

I'm just looking at pending free agents. I think any if those three on the roster likely leads to turning the page on Bryce a few games into the season.

Malik Willis has been stewing in a nearly identical system for a few years now, he will likely start at some shitty team who will give him no support and wonder what happened.
