Panthers post game. Thomas Davis and J Stew

Recommended Posts

J stew:  ‘everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth’ quoting Mike Tyson   So, Seattle does the unexpected…what is the offense doing to reclaim the middle of the field..that is where games are won and lost

Thomas cracked on players and coaching to understand situational football  one example, stop running laterally….two quick examples   Throws to flat, getting there late and instead of running forwards, the rbs are running laterally then turning up field….dissected young doing the same thing that takes time off the clock and loses, yardage…coaches need to coach this…Thomas also cracked on poor open field tackling

encourage you all to listen   Too many good points to summarize

gotta say, after that game, I have little faith in Canales as an OC and Young…they had zero answers…zero    Not the first time either.

Large part of me wishes they had hired Kellen Moore   More on his resume than being friends with Pete Carroll   He also, was able to take a what, late 1  rd qb, who is quite good and a baller

Slough isn’t timid, has an arm and is prototypical

The super processor has been late his entire career in the NFL..  Balls way too often don’t go when they should (late) or he misses the window and turns it into a scramble.

Off topic but what I also hate about some of the ALL22 twitter type stuff.  Too many folks pausing clips to make whatever argument they want.  You can pause the same play, screen shot seconds apart and sell 2 different narratives on the still shots.

Young threw for 54 yards…

Darnold also had a horrific last game in a Panthers uniform when the Panthers beat the Saints.

It’s either coaching, or its ability. For Darnold I believe it was coaching. For Bryce, I think it’s largely an ability defect

Darnold has always been brimming with ability. It was experience(people forget how incredibly football inexperienced he was/is) and largely between the ears. The first part he is starting to get past, the second is a mountain he has yet to climb. Truthfully, based on experience, he should have been a Day 3 pick and been left to develop on rosters for several years to get up to the experience even required to play NFL QB.

Bryce is considerably different. He has zero of the natural ability that Darnold has. His edge was supposed to be that wealth of experience and his mental abilities to break down the game at an elite level. Well, none of that has transpired and he appears to have some of the exact same mental issues that Darnold does and then some. He is one of the least confident QB's that has ever played here. He does not trust his ability to make NFL level throws.

The receivers got little separation, the receivers also ran wrong  routes in the same area at least once and of course xL being his usual self.

the oline was not top notch, in either run or pass pro

the defense had moments  their stats ion 3rd down, really bad and stupid penalties   The defense had 4 chances at turnovers and missed them all

the offensive game  plan and its execution was as flawed as always  and did not work the middle of the field and per Jonathan Stewart, that is how to attack that seattle defense .

add it all up, they weren't winning that game particularly with Bryce as the leader of that orchestra offensively

the problem is it has to be perfect for Young  and he has to have short  fields   That is mot going to happen consistently

I dont know what the future holds for this team

but i just do not see the play calling and execution from that offense with the canales idzik young marriage  being productive against better coaches and teams

a whole lot of draft choices and money  spent  on the offensive side of the ball   It is not working out and had Dowdle not been super man in games 5 and 6, no chance on this season

I hope they win  sunday and make the playoffs  it is good thing for many reasons

it will also be a spotlight…either young can play in big  moments or he cant, same for Canales and the rest of the players

Those fuging swing passes and dump-offs

If us message board warriors and twitter analysts can see the opposing defensive scheme and disguises funneling Bryce to dump it off and dare him to throw it beyond 7 yards, coaches and front offices being paid millions have to know this. This includes the Panthers’ brass.

This is why I think Canales is toting the company line and playing Bryce because he has to. If Tepper goes to him this offseason and says, “It’s your call at QB, Coach. Either keep Bryce or find your guy. Whatever it takes to win!” I think Canales benches or asks Dan to move Bryce.

It’s fuged up, but if this is the plan, he might be smarter than we think

I hope this is true

Young would thrive with the current 49ers, great all round team, and Shanahan makes QBs better, even Alabama reclamation projects

he needs a finished product and the Panthers ain’t that

it is so hard to see Maye, Stroud, Williams and the rest, even the NO qb, and watch what the panthers trot out there every Sunday

I don’t think Bryce can thrive in any system. He might be less bad in the 9ers system, but at the end of the day he wouldn’t make anyone around him better.

I don't think you would see Bryce shine in San Fran. He might be better than here but he doesn't have any of the abilities that Purdy or Jones have.

Even if you put him in the perfect situation, his ceiling is very low. His floor is an abyss.
