There is almost no chance Canales will ever be half the coach Harbaugh is/was/etc.

Yeah but Flacco could make every other throw if needed and fast too.

He also turns 64 this year. It can definitely work like Payton in Denver but some eventually age out like Pete Carroll. Harbaugh is definitely one hell of a coach though.

Ultimately while he is a great coach who could help in the short term it's a pipe dream. Even if things fell into place and he took a year off and we somehow talked him into it the job in 2027 he would be pushing 65. The Seahawks already have a younger up and coming version of him and they are hitting their stride. At the end of the day we need to be building for 10 years from now.

After reading that article on the Raiders, I am placing a lot less blame on Carroll than before. He could have some left in the tank but that situation sounded like it was untenable.

We hired Canales because no one wanted to work for Tepper.  He showed improvement in year two and made the playoffs. He deserves another year, and hopefully Morgan won't revert to idiot mode w/ player personnel/draft decisions.
