Bryce Young is our Josh Allen, bro.

Dan was here for that fiasco.

Signing Dalton to a 2 year deal after the ghost pepper fueled poo storm that was his performance last season is reminiscent of the stomach rumble premonition that hits 10 minutes after finishing a late night jolt cola and Taco Bell chili cheese burrito fueled cotton mouth/munchies extravaganza.

Mcdermott nor Brandon Beane going to come out of this well. Appears it was not smooth sailing.

I'm curious to know if McDermott was sacrificed to save Beane's skin. The one thing that may be the case is that Allen may just not be one of those QB's that is capable of hitting that next level. If so, Beane is probably doomed in the long run, as well.

Seeing the comments that Beane was kissing butt to ownership this would not surprise me.  Beane started out well but IMO he's really putting the Bills in the same boat he and Gettleman put Cam.  Their decisions really had an impact on Cam's future.

You have a generational QB and can't get over the hump and IMO it was lack of talent and not lack of on field leadership.

Yeah, that could definitely be plausible on all counts.

There is no doubt that winning on the field is the ultimate goal.

But not far behind that is winning off the field / in the board room / at the bank.

Beane has been meticulous in betting on Josh Allen being able to put on the cape and taking a band of misfits to the playoffs every year.  That drives tickets, merch, concessions, TV shares, etc.  Which all put money into the owner's pockets.

The coach only controls what's on the field, and even then, it's mostly out of his hands minus time management as he doesn't throw, catch, run or kick for those 60 minutes.

My guess is Beane has made that owner a poo ton of money through contracts (or lack there of), and staying the course financially when it's easy to overspend to get over the hump.  That's why he's still there and McDermott isn't.

My guess is they will hire a non-splash candidate that commands middle of the pack money for a head coach, and Beane will once again point out to ownership how he saved them $4-$6M with this hire, and they still have Superman on their team.  New England has a first place schedule next year, and that's likely good for 2 additional losses, which would give them the same record as the Bills had this year.

I knew McDermott was gone if they didn't reach the Superbowl.

did a great job getting us out of cap hell. also did nothing to make the team better once we had a roster good enough to compete for a super bowl

for a hawwwg mawlie enthusiast using first round picks on shaq and vernon butler which were luxury picks while strutting out the likes of nate chandler, byron bell, matt kalil, mike remmers to protect your franchise QB was malpractice. and then of course the norman fiasco and drafting kelvin benjamin over davante adams, jarvis landry and allen robinson and doubling down on devin funchess the next year. for a guy that "came from scouting" it was crazy how he drafted 2 tall unpolished receivers simply because Cam "threw high"

I remember him and Rivera thinking Byron Bell would be a better left tackle than right tackle because he was left handed lol

I couldn’t summarize it any better, dude let his ego run wild and it cost us, I remember this idiot wasted a season and was non committal about cam being a franchise qb, then he went to the Giants and ran them into the ground too

Multiple places writing that 5 weeks ago there was an owner/GM/coach meeting,

McDermott pointed out flaws in the roster that would prevent them from winning, or handicap the effort to win the SB.

He pissed them both off in the course of the meeting. No more specific he said he said out there yet. That I found.
