I old enough to remember that it wasn't just the impatient owner that wanted those 2 out of here, it was an entire fanbase too.

People wanted Jake out people wanted Cam out people wanted Teddy Bridgewater out people wanted Sam Darnold out people wanted Baker Mayfield out. It's always been this way. Every single one of the aforementioned QB's still had more physical talent than the guy we have now. Nobody with a functioning brain actually wanted to downgrade to the smallest starting QB in the league and trade our best WR to do it too.

Don't forget most of us were popping off when Sam initially had a hot start , iirc. Same when Kyle Allen won his first like 4 or 5 games.

We were calling him "Sam Newton" when he was scoring multiple rushing TDs early in his first year with us lol

The Texans are lead by, and act upon a defensive ONLY minded coach.

Not evenly remotely the same as the coaches I mentioned.

The Texans would've been 8-9 this year with Bryce.

Unless you were one of the torch bearing crowd claiming Bryce would have had the same record as Stroud if all that was different was he was in Texas and Stroud was in Charlotte, it has nothing to do with your claim, other than blind player stanning. Which was the comparison. That what you claim is equally based in fanning not reality.

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
