BREAKING: Falcons stud DE James Pearce Jr arrested for beating a woman

Recommended Posts

The character issue was out there and I remember Pearce and others around him saying it was completely made up and unfair. Even made me wonder.

Well it obviously was true, guy has probably been a problem all along.

This guy just cost every other player with alleged character issues, even if small or false, an absolute ton of money.

Based off the whole situation (reports saying he tried to basically get in her car at a red light tried to crash her while driving for not taking to him then was crashing his car into officers cars also) he’ll probably get a year bc he should be looking at 6 months first offense punishment but he has a lot of aggravating factors that will push him into let’s say a tier two closer to tier three permanently banning him. Probably a year then a meeting with the commissioner to get reinstated on strict guidelines. Dam Atl really will be setback because of one player. The lost draft capital and lost production from a top pick whewwww you better take heed to those character concerns.

He will get another shot.

Not saying he should, but he will.

This individual has much bigger issues to deal with than playing in the NFL.  If the NFL really ‘cares’ about their players as they claim, they would tell him to sit it out for a season or two, and get counseling and mentoring from someone like Tony Dungy or Derwin Gray.  This goes way beyond 100 hours community service type of slap on the wrist.  This man has a serious heart issue to deal with.

They are letting people walk for some crazy stuff these days. He can hire a badass defense attorney and go judge shopping, you just never know.

NFL has to do something strong though. This to me, is every bit as bad as Hardy allegedly shoving his girlfriend on a bed that had a rifle or some kind of gun on it. People went crazy over that. This is at least on that level.  At least.

Ita wild the Falcons drafted him in the 1st round with these serious concerns. I mean, Hardy fell all the way to the 6th largely because of similar concerns. At some point in the draft it's tempting to take a shot on the talent. 6th round? Okay, I get it. You're in the throwing darts at the board portion of the draft at that point. 1st round? Oof.

Yeah, no.  He hit a cop with his vehicle. That is something they 100% aren't going to let him off the hook for.

This also isn't a he-said, she-said situation.  It is all on video.  It would take Saul Goodman as his lawyer for him to get out of this.  I'd be shocked if he even tests his luck with a trial.

Also I'm not saying this is the way it should be, but the fact that he did this to another professional athlete rather than a regular civilian will absolutely play a role too.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
