Goedert back to Philly.

Njoku out there lurking still…..

I had a feeling that would end up being the case. Probably a short term deal.  Once the next one expires Philly will likely move on.  Goedert is still in his prime, productive and on a playoff caliber team.  It made sense for both sides.  Him coming here was a pipe dream. *sigh* Oh, well...

Trey Lance back to the Chargers on a 1-year deal. Maybe, just maybe we will take the backup QB position a little more serious next offseason than Kenny Pickett.

Goerdert's is also a 1-year deal. Again, maybe we can get this right in 12 months.

Goerdert's arms are too short for the current staff. It's why they aren't looking at sediq either.

Production is production. That should trump one substandard physical metric. Plenty of players do well with so-called substandard measurements/tests in a certain area.  I remember when we passed on Slater because his arms were to short.  All he did was dominate future NFL Ends in college, but the staff couldn't overlook those stubs for arms.

I assume this is sarcasm, but it's too subtle to be certain

It wasn't sarcasm at all, the Panthers scouting requirements for TE's are similar to the ones they use for OL as far as height and arm length are concerned. 100% true.

It's why I've been surprised that they've kept Tremble since the new staff got into place. They'll take a chance on guys later in the draft with shorter arms but if it's going to be a big contract or a high draft pick, expect them to follow the guidelines that the beat reporters have been mentioning because of fan interest in Sediq.

They don't have guidelines for hand size for the backup QB.
