That was going to be a bit too rich for our blood.

Good for him! I always liked him and he deserved to get paid. I wanted him back, but it's a deep draft at C and we can't afford to over-pay the whole line.

Center has to be a draft need now, right?

Not a promising center class for day 1 starters. There's a couple of intriguing prospects, but none that you can really look at and say that guy is starter material. Lew, Slaughter, Hecht and Jones seem to be in the top 5 on most rankings projections I've seen, but even so, don't know that any of them are ready to go day 1.

Yep, he was a team player and had worked his way into a starting role, if not here, somewhere. Hope he does great there.

Good to see these young folks' dreams coming true.

Still... we need a center. Drafting would be great but our first two rounds are certainly spoken for. Is there a great one in the third? Hope so.

good for cade

last time i'll tell this story

he was originally a UGA recruit. when he came for his final visit, his dad was sitting down on a metal folding chair and accidentally chopped one of his fingers. But they're real country so he was just like "Well I got 9 more it's fine" and moved on with their lives.

When Cade wanted to transfer to UT, UGA was initially going to block the transfer until his dad came by and was like "REMEMBER THAT FINGER I LOST?!" and UGA was like "okay fair."

Lions agreed to terms with C Cade Mays, formerly of the Panthers, on a three-year, $25 million contract.
A boost for Jahmyr Gibbs! Mays is a huge power-blocking 6-foot-6, 325-pound center and should help solidify a troubled interior line for the Lions. It allows them to leave Christian Mahogany and Tate Ratledge at guard and makes Juice Scruggs a depth piece.
