that's a marketing a choice. I wouldn't argue that.

He's undoubtedly the most replaceable player on the offense. That's the opposite of "franchise."

unless franchise just means to you the guy they trot out for fluff interviews

If this statement was true, he wouldn't be here.

Better pass blocker, worse run blocker.

Best case scenario Walker re-signs by the time Icky's healthy and we can try Icky as Moton's replacement on the right as a road grader. You want the better pass blocker on the blind side and the better run blocker creating lanes on the right.

We won't know much about Icky's recovery until around January, and then he has a very slim chance of being 100%. I wonder why we only signed Walker for a year? Even if Icky someone gets back to NFL starter level in 2027, we still need another tackle on this roster.

Bryce Young is still here because of what we invested to select him. Anyone pretending otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

I think Bryce is about to become a top 10-15 QB for the next decade. I also think we’ll sign him to a reasonable deal compared to some of these monster contracts QBs have been crippling franchises with lately. I’ve developed that much confidence in Tillis & Co.

At the end of the day we were always walking a tightrope with the OL we were amongst the top 3 or 4 paid units in the league even before Icky got hurt. Injuries are very unfortunate but they are going to happen to any team. And besides even if he hadn't gotten hurt we would have given him a contract extension and we would still have the highest paid OL in the league right now. That's why we should have been addressing the OL in the draft more. I hope to see us begin that approach with the upcoming draft.

Have you noticed a change in our competitiveness since we pumped money into our OL?

Still weird he signed a 1 year deal as a young decent LT, I'm surprised someone else didn't offer him a longer term deal...

The market for him may not have been as good as it could have been due to him just being arrested on a gun charge at an airport. Reading the report of the charge it seems like he was trying to do the right thing and just uneducated, but still.

If the right prospect falls sure. I just don't want to take one to take one at 19 if there is also quality defensive talent still on the board.

I mean not to sound like a dick. But only the Panthers and their fans think you have to draft one in the first to hit. For all the praise of Morgan's FA which is certainly looking good. Where he will truly cement his role is picking those mid to late round gems in the draft. Without those winning free agency doesn't mean squat 🤷‍♂️

You just have to take the correct tackle. Obviously earlier just means you're guaranteed to get your guy. I'd like to see us invest in an OT. Moton's knees aren't going to last forever and we need a LT and likely a swing tackle next year. I'd like to see us drafting a tackle every 2 years somewhere in the draft, unless we hit on 2 bookends, then every 3. Quality tackles are hard to get and 2 of their contracts can be hard to manage. Between injuries, cap, and just the constant need to replenish depth, it's a position that I don't think can really be ignored because we think we're OK at the position.

Then we are truly fuged
