ACL repair and recovery

How far has ACL repair and recovery advanced since Thomas Davis had the injuries? I recall hearing that he would probably never play at a high level again. Not everyone is T.D. He proved them all wrong.

I'm sure with new surgical advancements the repair would be miles of what it used to be. If Brooks is used right and fully recovered, could he possibly have a successful comeback after two tears to the same knee?

Anyone with medical knowledge on this topic know if thats even possible? Canales said he should be ready for training camp. Ready for camp and playing at a high level are two different animals.

Best I know nothing has changed for the surgery part, but the recovery has been reduced.

Plus you need to see all the damage in the knee, many times you don't know until you look.. Then the surgery just lasts longer and rehab is longer too.

It all depends on what damage was found and how well the surgery takes. I think trust is going to be a huge factor. As someone who's had multiple knee injuries, it takes a while to feel safe doing everything without that splinter of doubt in the back of your mind again. I can't imagine what that would feel like for a NFL players.
