Bryce Young 5th year option exercised

Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young.

Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.

Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.

Can't say I'm super excited about Arch Manning, Dante Moore, and Lanoris Sellers being in the top 10 of qb's available next draft lol. I might be on the Chambliss train if he gets to play another year and continues an upward trajectory

Mensah. Carr.

Or he takes another baby step and they buy in. Sorry lol but that is the pattern.
not gonna even think about if he starts out playing like he has his first three years.  I can’t hope for it but I would like him to give them a definitive answer. That might be one.

He's been the same player for three years. It looks like he's taken baby steps because we're incrementally improved the team around him.

He's still a woefully inadequate QB.

Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes.

Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.

I was watching Razzle Brazzel's highlights yesterday and just came away thinking "Young can't make those throws".

Every year, he’s gotten off to such slow starts. I expect the same this year. Hopefully I’m wrong

I saw it mentioned that he finally has weapons lol. We know that opinion will change if he gets off to another slow start. It will all of a sudden be said that he has no weapons, or he needs to get in sync with these weapons.

So you’re saying the qb with 12 tds, 11 picks, sub 60 comp pct, 73 passer rating in his rookie season is still the same player today? 23 tds, 11 ints, 63.6 comp pct, 87.8 passer rating.

If he wins out, it will be a pittance to pay him. If it doesn't pan out for him this year, that figure isn't going to break the bank.

It was really the best answer to the question. Now, we just see how it plays out.

If he's the guy, then we're good to go.

If he's not the guy, then we've built a heck of a supporting cast for the next guy and we aren't looking at a $40 a year contract on the books.

Either way, we'll know by December. And honestly, I'm more worried about how things go in early November than I am this.

He is the exact same player.  Not sure who or what you are watching but Bryce is who he is.

It's because he has zero work ethic and spends every offseason playing video games, binging Netflix and chilling with his buddies. A light 20 minute workout every morning is the extent of this guys offseason training regiment.

And then next season, they don't play him in pre-season.
I don't know, but maybe play the slow starter so he gets going... 🤷‍♂️
