I think it was a pretty honest assessment. Negative overall, but acknowledged some positives. I hope he is right about what he said he heard. Or didn’t hear.

31 is where he ranks him?  Lololol. Poor Stans

r/Panthers also known as r/BryceTruthers was not happy about that ranking.

Oh, no doubt they have their tar and feathers all ready for Simms.
His mocking of them was funny as hell Top ten!

I mean Simms himself was a mediocre QB, he knows what throws are cake and what is hard.

Even a mediocre NFL starting QB is a hell of a QB in the big scheme of things.

Bryce has achieved a lot. Over achieved. I don’t think he gets over the NFL reality wall.

With a mediocre QB the Panthers would have won 10 games last season.

I'm surprised it took the league that long to realize if they just stacked the box to stop Rico that Bryce couldn't beat them with his arm. He still managed to average nearly 5ypc and rush for more than Bryce threw for against Seattle when Bryce threw for 54 yards with a playoff berth on the line. 54 fuging yards.

You can talk about loading the box all you want, Rico Dowdle ran for 9 yards on 6 carry in the postseason. Bryce ran for 24.. Chuba for 46.. When the lights are bright Rico shrinks

I said all along what Rico Dowdle was doing was unsustainable. Plenty of RB's have flashed big numbers and then fallen off. It's the nature of the position now.

But let's not get crazy here. At the end of the day there is unequivocally no postseason without Rico Dowdle. Bryce Young led the Panthers to a 4-6 finish was swept by the Saints and split with an at the time imploding Bucs team. We really are not in a position to talk about anyone else shrinking under bright lights. We're still waiting to see our #1 pick open the regular season not playing horribly.

His back was sore from carrying the offense earlier in the season.

Back and everything else.  But even in his big games he needed a breather. Cramping up maybe.

I don’t think he is a bell cow back. Just a nice piece to have in your backfield that can hit the hole quick and be through it.

For some reason my old browser and the quote button are not getting along.

Regarding the mediocre I guess it depends of your definition of that word. The biggest issue we had offensively IMO is we had no means of breaking the lock on the running game through the air.
When they clamped that running game down we were cooked.

I don’t know what mediocre QB overcomes that. Maybe that is the difference between mediocre and largely impotent. Maybe mediocre gets it done sometimes just not all the time.

At least they finally got it right.

Hell, I'm not even defending Rico. He got red hot and we rode that hot streak to winning 4 out of 5 games.

It is what it is and Bryce is ass.
