what does Bryce's 2026 season need to look like for you to be oaky with extending him?

Idk, 17 games he played last season and he went over 200 yards 5 times. 

He's still that same QB that is only going to pass for 175 yards or more in about half of his starts. Go look at his stats that has been his MO every season.

2nd season : 8 over 8 under

3rd season : 8 over 9 under

I think with a QB that has the ability to threaten the defense our offense could be pretty good. With Bryce its more than likely to be bottom 10 again. 

Sure,  he has better OL and better WR and a better defense and that helps a lot.

Plus almost everyone improves with more reps and experience.  
Some of it is from that. 
Closely aligned to that is stability and consecutive years in the same system. 

Now to the not improved and likely never will improve stuff: 
he can’t see the field any better with experience. The arm is not going to give him any edge, quite the opposite. His disadvantages and narrow margins for error remain the same. You can’t fix that you have to live with it. I don’t want to. Never did.

The improvements have been not fumbling when getting sneezed on and not throwing INTs directly into the chest of defensive lineman, but he still sucks he is still the same guy.

I just don't see how another year is going to make up for his lack of arm strength, size, and height. His ONE attribute that everybody prior the draft harped on was his "super processing"............and I've seen none of that since day one. With even average QB play last year, we go 11-6. Guess we have to waste yet another year figuring out what majority of Panther fans already know.

I don't care what the final numbers look like, but Bryce needs to show the ability to elevate the players around him and not just let the team around him elevate his play.  He doesn't have to play like he did versus the Falcons every week but the sub 150 passing yard games need to get whole lot better as that's not a sustainable way to win in this league and I hope the front office understands that and the fact we as fans expect more production from our number 1 overall pick QB going into year 4 especially when extension talks are being brought up.

He would have to make a huge leap this year for me to agree w/ an extension unless it is extremely favorable to the team.  Don't double down on the stupidity of trading the farm for him in the first place by giving him a Tua contract.

highly drafted Qb's like Sam Darnold especially a #1 overall pick usually always have ideal physical traits & or alot of raw arm strength 

Iook at Bryce Young & see no reason why he should have ever been drafted #1 overall. if anything BY should have been a latter round draft pick or UDFA like Pavia that came into the NFL on a prove it deal 

honestly see this ending only one way & no not like Sam Darnold ...just saying

In terms of the possibility of Bryce Young following Sam Darnold's career arc to this point think of the movie Big with Tom Hanks. That's basically what would have to happen. Unfortunately we don't exist within a feel good fantasy film universe.

I don't see a season from Bryce that justifies an extension. He is what he is at this point. I expect more of the same from him, they need to focus on prospects for the 2027 draft.

ok LOL yeah BIG that movie brings back memories from way back in the 80's 

anyway I like to think people want to often assume Bryce Young has an opportunuty to also do what Sam Darnold has done in his carrer maybe not the exact same timeline but sorta the same upward trajectory ...just saying

Brock Purdy played the Seahawks twice right after Youngs' game and averaged 145 yards (passing and rushing) with 0 TD's, 2 INT's and a fumble in those two games. So he had around 60 more total yards per game but Young did at least have one TD. Purdy makes 53M a year. 

So what is Purdy's fair market value?

It really depends on the cost of the extension. Expectations change significantly depending upon the price. What I would need to see to sign him to 55M per year is a lot different than what I would need to see to sign him to 35M.

Do his physical limitations impede his performance?  Yes.  Tip toeing, failure to throw over the middle effectively, etc.  Eventually, I expect him to start showing the wear and tear.  He has had 4 seasons and his best season was meh, and without RIco, I think he struggles again.   I see both sides--he has improved, but the cost of his supporting cast will be a factor when he wants bag.
