Gene Upshaw is a Uncle Tom!

"He talked about Upshaw like a dog -- literally -- suggesting that that the former Oakland Raiders offensive lineman was the "personal pet" of outgoing NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and that Tagliabue's successor, Roger Goodell, should make sure Tagliabue tells him "where he keeps Gene Upshaw's leash."

This is what Gumble had to say about the late great Upshaw. I wonder if he is patting D.Smith on the back for not being a "Dog", Now that the Union is on the brink of decertifying and a bunch of players will not get paid this year. Most people took for granted how well of a negotiator Upshaw was and how well he worked WITH not against the league.

Guess everyone got what they wanted when they hired Smith. He does not back down for sh*t and will not yield even though he is driving the Union right off a cliff.

I never knew Tiger could pull that much pussy being a dick head. People surprise you. :D

Rep for that one.

I can't believe that Upshaw is being bad mouthed. People need to quit blaming others and take responsibity for their own greedy self. I am starting to not care about the lockout. Hell maybe they should have a lockout so the players can realize how much they have going for them. I think the problem with the CBA deal is that the players have been making so much money all they care about is making more and more. The players should be ashamed of how much greed they have.

The sad thing about the CBA is the people who put the money in the players wallets are the only ones who are going to be hurt the most. That is the fans of course.

If you think about it... it's kinda like the pot calling the kettle black... in a weird quadruple-entendre way. 1. Bryant Gumble is white, 2. he calls another black guy uncle tom. 3. bryant gumble is actually black 4. bryant gumble is an uncle tom.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
