We Know Marty Don't Draft Anybody In The First Unless There's A Visit

I honestly believe it might be Coples. He's better than any of our DT's or DE's (excluding CJ), and his versatility makes him more likely to be an immediate starter, while not 'giving up' on Fua or McClain because he'll only slide inside situationally. Makes the most sense to me.

Good logic, give them a chance to develop, kearse and neblett did good things too

Rivera said that they want the first rounder to have immediate impact. IMO that automatically puts Poe out of the list, best case scenario, he's a project that will take a few years, but will dominate when he matures. I also think that makes Coples less likely. Even if you buy into his work ethic, there's an indisputable fact that he struggled under a new system last year. Kalil and Claiborne will probably be taken by 9. Furthermore I honestly think Worthy should be in the discussion. At the very least I think he'll go before Poe, possibly Gilmore and Coples. That makes my list

Kuechly

Cox

Brockers

Floyd

Gilmore

Worthy

Kuechly and Cox seem to be the most likely imo.

"We won't bring a guy in to develop, he's going to be a starter."

So that eliminates..

Dontari poe

Stephon Gilmore

Also, because they won't be there when we pick.

Morris Claiborne

Justin Blackmon

So that leaves

Luke Kuechly

Fletcher Cox

Quinton Coples.

Way to steal my post man ;)

Don't see how I 'stole' your post.

People won't like this, but I think we're targeting Coples... we just finished using two 3rd round picks on DT's.

I dont hate Coples but if we are going to draft on talent for the future might as well draft Brockers. We really do have a lot of no name guys that stepped up in the DE department last year. We had a total of 19 sacks from the DE department and 6.5 from our DTs. If we are looking from a statistics stand point where we need to draft pressure its DT not DE. Still Coples is a 2 pos guys so I guess he fits that bill.

Both have had issues but the pro bowl talent is there. I think we have the leaders in key position to keep them in line. If Jenkins is there I don't see how we pass.

The chemistry that could be built between Cam and Floyd could be huge. When i think about the players available at 9 and who i think would make a huge impact i cant help but think that with Cam throwing the ball to Floyd that that would undoubtedly have a big effect on our team for years to come. I'm also hoping Janoris falls to our 2nd pick, we need his talent at CB.

Thank god the draft is almost here.
