Kuechly back on top!

The best part about Keeks is that he has an incredible body, very built and physically sound, which means he is very durable, so he should be in the league a long time playing a lotta games in a row. He's pretty much got the perfect build that you would want for an NFL MLB.

I have a good feeling. I'm glad we weren't tempted with all the bust worthy DT's that everyone wanted at that pick.

He is all over the field on every play (as is Thomas Davis).

It is unreal how good Luke is going to be. I originally thought the Urlacher comparisons were a bit lofty, but he is the unquestionable leader of the defense just 15 games into his rookie season. He is lining the guys up and putting them in a position to make a play.

Before this year, when the opposition had the ball, I always focused on the offensive side and aside from a pick six, never really got too pumped about D, except maybe in the RZ. Now, I can't stop focusing on what Keek is doing, even well before the snap. He definetely has a unique gift and we may be watching the rapid growth of a future superstar headed for the HOF. In decades of being a casual football fan, I don't remember ever looking forward to the defense coming onto the field. I do now!

If this was true, there would be very few injuries in the NFL. Last I checked, there were a lot.

Having a "good body" doesn't necessarily mean you're durable. Beason is built like a brick shithouse.

Wasn't thrilled with the Kuechly pick when it was announced (thought we had bigger needs than linebacker).

Boy, have I changed my mind.

I wasn't thrilled either but I did think for where we picked he was by far the best player available and overall the best Defensive player so I was cool with it from that perspective and so far I've been right about that.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
