Dwan negotiation update: No movement

There has been no movement in negotiations between the Panthers and free agent DT Dwan Edwards.

The Panthers made Edwards a one-year, $1.5 million offer last week. He says he has a two-year deal on the table from another team and is inclined to take it if Carolina doesn't up the ante. Edwards, 32 in May, posted 6.5 sacks as a 4-3 tackle last season.

(I realize this is not news, but I did not see an update anywhere so I thought an update might help people know where this is)

A poker showdown going on?

There are a few other DTs in free agency.

We called his bluff, he wants to stay here - he just wants a little more $.

Exactly. And I will PayPal a couple bucks to anyone here that can create some sort of animated gif of Gettleman and Hurney playing poker against each other. Bonus $1 if you incorporate the deal with it sunglasses and can make me laugh.

    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
    • Hoping someone tells us Bussi was in the starter's crease for the morning skate. Otherwise, place your 1st shot- 1st goal bets! Any closer to a deal that could land a 2C in Trocheck or Brayden Schenn? Or land a winger in Alex Tuch or reach for Jordan Kyrou?
