he didn't take a pay cut, it's probably an combination extension/more signing bonus which means he gets paid more now but the team can spread the cap hit over more years thus lowering his number.

I totally agree with you. The goal as a GM is to have a quality product on the field and put yourself in a position to win any giving Sunday and not put Rivera or your HC in a position to fail... if you do you will lose the fanbase.

Jordan Gross has cut his '13 salary from $8.7M to $5.5M. His '14 contract year at $6.7M will now void next February 7th.
