so i was given a sound cloud link in another thread to a couple of interviews. Put in a search for the panthers and found this interview with Beason two months ago.

i've said it before in that Captain thread. I will be shocked if Cam doesn't become a Captain this year.  It's good to hear Beason feels the same. He also said that it will help Cam in the maturation process because he knows Cam will take it very seriously. Said he was happy to hear that Cam wanted the "C."  Interesting anyway to hear it from another Captain.

Again, I just don't see how anyone can elect him a captain when he very clearly wears towels on his head. How have you people not accepted this yet? It is a towel, and it is on his head.

Do you guys not notice the placement of the towel in this picture? I'm so tired of you homers and stuff not caring more about this. This towel is on his head. What about that can you not come to grips with? Don't you see how this clearly is an indictment on his character? Do you really feel as if someone can lead with his towel in that position?

Sheesh I'm gonna go watch ESPN so I can finally get some real in-depth towel placement coverage and analysis.

Clearly, it is not only placed on his head, it is also tucked.

I would not be shocked if he wasn't a captain....with Smitty and Gross there is a lot of vet leadership on the offense

I also would not be shocked if he was a captain....he has really grown in his leadership skills and you always want your QB to be a captain.

Personally I hope that they DO select him a captain so the media would move on from that topic....less of a distraction for him and the team.

It's all about learning to be a leader during the good times and bad (hopefully there is more good times this season). I always thought the "towel on the head" thing was blown way out of portion. Who cares? It is more about everyone nitpicking. I would like to see him fire the boys up on the side line when we are down during a game but I started to see a lot of that last year. This QB position in the NFL is a big time position and sometimes it takes learning what it takes to lead a group of grown man. I can say that I am proud to have him as the QB and this towel/maturity issue is getting over played. Just let the kid play. I know its the media's job to bring up topics and get ratings but it sure gets old. anyway, Go panthers!

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
