I debated with myself on posting this, but I'm doing it anyway. This is just to serve as a warning to those who engage in this activity. My wife, who was 29, died this morning of liver failure. It was an extremely disturbing and painful death, very difficult to watch. Just remember, take things in moderation and tell those you love that you love them often, because you never know when the end is near. I'm not looking for any replies or sympathy; I just want to tell people that execessive alcohol consumption is very dangerous and you can pay for it with your life; sometimes with very short notice. Always take things in moderation and alcohol is not the answer to long term problems.

RIP Lauren,

Love Michael

Wow. I can't even imagine going through that. My condolences to you and your family.

My father is an alcoholic, and has been just about my whole life unfortunately. Luckily I have never had any serious issues with addiction. Frankly I haven't even had a drink in going on two months now. Just haven't had the urge.

Again, my thoughts are with you. I hope you have close friends/family that can help you get through this.

i can't even begin to imagine man. one of my good friends died of a pill addiction. these words helped me

"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. It goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud and it’s fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, “Hey – don’t worry, don’t be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride…”

i hope you find peace in this ride we are very lucky to be on.

thanks for taking something like this event and using it to try and help others avoid it. i hope for yours and her sake someone is impacted enough to change the way they deal with alcohol (and other not so good stuff that we tend to not do in moderation).

may peace of mind come your way.

that's really heartbreaking to read and I'm so sorry for you and your friends/families...I couldn't imagine.

I'm sure I won't be the only one to give my family an extra squeeze the next chance I can.

sorry Michael, my condolences.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
