Panthers will win Sunday

Thats right boys and girls, the Panthers are going to win on Sunday.

You all know that I have been a Shula critic from day 1, but did you know that Shula from time to time actually does put together a nice game? It is those games that keeps the fans scratching their heads and wondering if there is hope. It is like a CIA torture tactic. Break them down almost completely, but then offer them a candy bar.

Flash back to 1998. High hopes are made for the Buccaneers who had a good 1997 season and look to improve on it. However, the Bucs lost the first two games of the season, scoring only an average of 11 points. But then, BAM, they host the Chicago Bears at home and Shula puts up 27 points and a victory.

I expect to see a competent offense on Sunday moving the ball. I expect a few long plays for touchdowns that will have the fans thinkging maybe, just maybe, this team finally has it together. Maybe Rivera is a good head coach afterall. Maybe we were all wrong about him.

It will be a nice sentiment going into the bye week.

You have been up too late Zod.

I will be at the stadium and in my heart, would love for the Panthers to win.

Sadly, I see Giants  38, Panthers 20.

...particularly sad as I'm staying over in Charlotte Sunday, which means, all I'll hear are Giants fans.

The only hope is the Manning is not a mobile QB; but, the receivers for the Giants will tear up that secondary.

Do we get to use the 98 Bucs defense?

it would be nice, but i just don't see it happening. they score too much and we're allergic to it this year.

i fully expect rivera to say in his pressure today that he doesn't see the sense in having a high scoring offense because the other team is just going to score as well and then everyone just gets tired.

and then sunday the game plan will be to philosophically prove that you can win a game by keeping your score low....meanwhile the giants drop 50 on us.

    • You’re right. I was thinking of the GB game with the silly reach for the goal line when he wasn’t close that turned into a goal line fumble. I do remember all the discussions in here about end of the game interceptions and bad passes, etc. but that wasn’t against the Chiefs. That said, still the best season by a QB since Cam. Best 4 game run was Darnold to start 2021, but best full season was Teddy. That makes me really sad.
    • Agreed. I think they never seriously considered him an option even though he was/is miles better than Darnold.  I think the ego stuff was massively overplayed. He was played for the Browns, a disaster organization, and he accomplished more than they have in years. He came here to another diaster organization that happened to be worse than Cleveland and he didn't succeed. But, how could he? Frankly, who the fug could? I think our general fanbase really underestimates how terrible this organization truly is. It can nuke anyone.  poo, you see how Stroud is struggling with a damn good Texans team? Can you imagine how bad he would be here in our circumstances?? He can thank his lucky stars we made the choice we did.
    • I think the vast majority of QBs only thrive or die based on their situations. But some are capable of making everyone else around them better in a way they redefine, or at least elevate, those situations. And some of the former group also just never will really have "it" when the moment matters. So far it feels like Bryce either needs the perfect situation or he just doesn't have "it". I suppose we'll get the season to see if that changes, but to call me skeptical is an understatement.
