Melvin White

The NFL now has film on him, which will be interesting.

this is my only concern. any of his weaknesses may have been masked by the insane pressure the defensive line got; i'm sure the cards will be scouring film to see where and how he got beaten by receivers even if the ball never got there.

it'll be very interesting to see what ron and mcdermott decide to roll out on the field in two weeks.

For some reason I still have that cards game in mind when Sherrod Martin looked solid behind a good defensive front.  Not trying to say that's Melvin but I look to that to temper my expectations haha

I really like what I saw out of him though.  Seems to have a bit of a ballhawk mentality (and I'm not just looking at the fact he had an INT)

I was impressed by White's instinct there. But in another situation, that could be a pump fake away from a 40 yd bomb to the man he dropped. Same stuff Norman gets criticized for. Hopefully it's not a product of small sample size. God knows we need some decent corners on the team.

Mitchell had the over the top zone on that play. If you watch the replay you can see him back there. While the WR might have sat down in that free area between the time that White released him and before Mitchell might have gotten to him, it wouldn't have been a long bomb.

Sometimes the right people get hurt and well...............you get what you had here today.

Sounds crazy but how did that Brady kid get started again?

All is well in Pantherland.

At least for one night.

Most of those INTs in that video were similar to his today. It's hard to tell, but it seems like he uses his awareness and quickness to break on balls after they've been thrown as opposed to guessing and jumping routes like Norman. Norman also likes to bait QB's, which likely worked up until this point in his career. However, you can't give a massive cushion to NFL QB's or they'll make you pay. White, on the other hand, seems to break off of his receiver and get the pick on passes to other receivers (similar to today's pick).
