Does anybody else think Nate Chandler can develop into a starting OTHERS?

I don't know about LT but what about RT?

He has good size (6'4 315) and showed some good feet at OG when he was forced into the starting line-up. I didn't think he was strong enough at guard but I can see him develop at OT.

He was the backup LT going into the season. I think he'd be better suited in that role than RT, just because hes more athletic than just a mauler.

He looked good playing LT in preseason. Kind of an upright player, which is ok playing at LT.

For getting thrown into action & switching from DT Oline. He did damn well. I personally think he could be one a solid starter.

What he did on the line was impressive given the circumstances. I'm interested in seeing how he progresses.

He's very raw.  We'll see what he can develop into.  Probably a career backup, but a good career backup isn't a bad thing to have.

I'm rooting for the guy.  He was used a lot last season and I'm sure he'll see playing time at some point this next year.  Didn't look bad.

This. We do not want to have to count on him as a starter, but as a backup who can play 4 or 5 positions, he can have a nice career.

Gettlemen was singing his praises, but we need to go into the offseason thinking we can upgrade every positon on the OL--except maybe Center.

 

LT--Try to draft a rookie to take Gross's job; try to re-sign Gross.  If the rookie does not beat Gross out, he moves to the right side knowing that he is being groomed for LT.  If he beats Gross out, Gross becomes the starting RT.

LG-Re-sign Wharton.  Challenge SIlatolu to beat him out.  If Silatolu cannot, he develops and learns from Wharton, trying to regain his job by midseason.  If Silatolu wins the job, Wharton is top-notch backup.

C-I am not sure we need to do anything here.  Byers is cheap depth and Kalil is solid.

RG--Kugbila, Chandler, and perhaps a draft pick or free agent.  The only way you don't get better is if Chandler wins the job.

RT--See LT.  This position upgrades if Gross re-signs and we draft a T.  Chandler (hopefully) is depth.

 

Considering we get what should/could be our starting Guards back from IR, all we need to do is re-sign Gross and Wharton and draft a T, maybe a G to improve dramatically across the line.
