Offensive Draft Phiosophoy | 2 TE Set & WR

After last week FA frenzy, we are are overhauling the offense with youth via draft. This has been a successful strategy, turning our weakness into a strength like the DL. The 2014 is a deep draft in OL/ WR the two biggest need for the team. With Gross retiring, the LT position is wide open. One possible candidate is Amini Silatolu who is athletic and has experience playing LT in his college days. | http://www.nfl.com/draft/2011/profiles/amini-silatolu?id=2532947 | 2 TE set was the most productive offensive scheme for Newton and makes it a easier transition for the younger OT. Sitting at 28 we aren't in position to draft a starting caliber LT.

P.S.  some position can be interchanged based on BPA and players available at the pick. The point is we are in a good position with the players on the roster to mold a offense that can fit our Philosophy and Improve the team.

Other Options:  WR - Cooks, OBJ, Matthews | Landry

Gabe will probably not go until the 4th.

I only worry that Benjamin is a physical speciman who is not ready yet for the pros, but has the "potential" to be great.

With our situation, I think we need a plug and play guy.  Cooks or OBJ would be better for me.

My god... if this actually happens.

This is gonna be Cam all season:

We have 3 starter returning  and Gabe Jackson is a all-american guard that is day one starter. The only concern would be how well Kugbilla pans out. Our run blocking would be taken to another level and the use of 2 TE set relieve pressure for the Tackle position.

Interesting but no chance we draft another guard in the 2nd round... That would be a terrible pick,

Yes, you would when your picking at the bottom of the round with a Offensive Philosophy of run first,Multi- Million dollar RB co. and when you have a OL prospect that played in the SEC and is All-American. Gettleman " Building from inside out " and love for HOGMOLLIES.

You have no concerns about Amini at LT?  An unproven 2nd year player at RG?  That same unproven 2nd year player playing beside a RT we already know isn't very good?  That's not even mentioning a rookie at LG playing beside an OG plugged in at LT.

IMO, your "solution" for the OL is pretty close to my "worst case scenario".

oh wee mayne

    • I may be way off base, let’s include this in that questions thread, but with the way the offensive staff turned on each other in 2023 I am happy to see anyone involved, gone. I had a bad feeling about Caldwell over it.
    • No poo tho you might could Jenkins for Legette. They got nothing at WR after the big 2 in Cincy. I don’t think you trade away OL depth. Could get a quality player in cuts. Really that 3-4 end spot what you should be looking for is someone who is stout with long arms and can push back the OL in both the run and pass game for others to make plays…. But we signed Wharton, sometimes I think Evero is a fraud ass nerd who should be an analyst at best.
    • you would honestly probably do Monroe Freeling more of a disservice by putting him in a position where is not yet ready to succeed. .we all knew Monroe Freeling struggled at the NFL combine in drills because of technique related issues & would need time to develop  & now all of a sudden before they even put the pads on Monroe Freeling is somehow a starting LT in the NFL ? if he struggled at the NFL scouting combine what do you actually think is going to happen in a live NFL game at LT ? .even our best LT of all time was not ready to start at LT when he was a rookie & he turned out to be a pretty good darn LT by the name of Jordan Gross ...just saying be patient Young Jedis
