McNabb weighs in on our lack of a threat at WR (via D. Newton)

How many times did the eagles make the NFCC game before TO?

I saw where X-Clown said 3 but I am pretty sure McNabb made it to 5 NFC Championship games and a Superbowl none of which were with TO. The year TO was on the team they did go to the Superbowl but TO didn't play in any of the playoff games because of a broken leg, but did show up for the Superbowl.

So in reality, McNabb made it to 5 NFC Championship games and a Superbowl, none of which did he had a #1 receiver.

In 2003 though they did tie a record for the fewest TD's in a season by WRs which was 5 total. They had none through the first 2 months of the season. Ahhhh the good ole days of Pinkston, Thrash and Fred-Ex.

I can see some hate coming regarding Donovan McNabb's comments in David Newton's latest, but it's not like they are outlandish...at all. The draft is going to be very important to us in regards to getting Cam a couple of legit weapons. I go back and forth in my mind about O-line vs wide-out. David Newton uses McNabb's on words about his experience being without a legit go-to guy for more years than not.

And, like I have said before: If Olsen is the best we have to offer, then we are going to keep falling short. I love what Olsen brings to the table as a role player, but our offense should not rely on Greg Olsen being the "top dog".

No, we're not the Pats.

McNabb's compelling argument is kinda swinging me back to the WR side of the equation. I know that it's going to come down to BPA in the draft, but what are we going to do when it comes down to Benjamin or OBJ or Moses? What should we do?

welcome back to the draft a wr side. We will accept you with open arms and not hold it against you. All I have to say is that our first 2 picks need to be wr and tackle. We definitely need hog mollies too. I personally would go wr with the 1st and ot with the 2nd.

It was 3 championship games before TO arrived in Philly was what I meant. You could argue that Desean Jackson was a #1 in 2008, but it was just his rookie year.

If McNabb had come out and said "I'd be worried because it's a passing league", I'd agree with that. But he's bringing up irrelevant points. The Patriots won the superbowl twice in a row without a 1000 yard wide receiver, beating McNabb and his TO-supercharged receiving core.

I want us to draft a receiver more than any other position at 28. But it's not going to be the difference between 13-3 and 6-10 if whether we draft one or not.

Funny how McNabb mentions LaFell being able to catch balls off Steve Smith. We've all seen what LaFell is capable of when Smitty isn't on the field, in other words nothing. So by that logic as soon as we dropped Smitty, LaFell leaving just went hand in hand.

McNabb may have lived through a similar scenario, but the fact of the matter is this. It will not take much at all to replace the production of Smitty, LaFell and Ginn, who would be a decent #2, an #3-4 tweener, and a #2-3 tweener on most other teams. McNabb may have valid points, but please understand he is another talking head looking at this team from a distance who doesn't watch this team regularly. I bet you he watched maybe 3 games plus the playoff loss last year.

Listen to me very carefully. The goal shouldn't be to replace production, but to exceed it. At this point we haven't even replaced it
