Rookie Camp Notes

It's alittle discouraging to hear that Ealy didn't get enough push while at Tackle. That said, it's far too early to be worrying about anything at this point.

Sounds like this could be another Evertt Brown type guy that might not be here in a few seasons. I hope he gets better. But when he got drafted some people said he was undersized for his position at DE. Brown was the same way. I just got this feeling this could end up the same way with Ealy in next few years. I know it is way to early to judge. But it doesn't sound good in the long run.

Besides Benjamin who gives off an obvious boner to everyone, the player I'm really excited to see on gameday is Trai Turner. The dude looks the part of an athletic hog mollie the will give us a solid interior once Silatolu comes back. I'm honestly starting to wonder if we're trying to mimic New Orleans with two solid guards and meh tackles.

Who I'm loving right now is that 6'6 TE I'm hearing about. Sounds like that guy could be a sure thing for this Panthers offense if he can make it to camp. If he could make the final cut at the end of the preseason. Put him Olsen and Dickson out there in 3 TE set. It would be big. I know 3 TE set is rare. But with a 5 WR set. Have 3 TEs and 2 WRs. It could just work. Hope this guy makes it to camp.

They were trying Ealy out at tackle. He's already more than big enough for the DE position.

Foucault needs work probably, but if they are singing him, that must mean the see something in him. Hope that he becomes something for us. His size desirable. Hopefully the coaching staff can mold him.

Especially if he is the only workout guy they sign.

We have some of the best Offensive Line Coaches in the NFL.   I am sure he'll be in good hands.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
