Id also like to add just about all on the list are below 1 million and only 1 year. That's very cheap for nfl standards and no long term commitment. Most time in life you get what you pay for, panthers where very lucky lasted year with the cheap one year deals.

Wow. When you look at the entire list, it's pretty clear that our GM didn't do a good job of bargain shopping like he did the previous year. Those 1 year, 'prove it' deals and short-term signings filled the roster with players ranging from garbage to mediocrity.

No GM has ever went into a season with more un drafted Linemen then drafted one. So Dave can put that in the trophy room.

Not true. There is no guarentee every lineman in our price range would have been better.

Could we have drafted Seantrel Henderson? Yes. That would have been good

Could we have traded for Matt Kalil? Yes. And there were people suggesting that around here. That would have been bad.

It is easy to say "there has to be someone better" but GMs don't have the luxury of choosing the field. They have to pick just one.

If there are 30 available tackles available of course one of them has to be better. There might be 5 that are better, but there is also 25 that could be worse.

Maybe we should have traded away next years 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder this year and drafted a tackle.

It amazes me that the same mindset that has led to the problems of this team are still prevelant when discussing how to fix it.

And then you have the draft class where the only real contributors are KB and then Turner and Bene when they're healthy.

 

It's almost like if you lose a lot and replace them with dogshit and have a pretty mediocre draft, you're going to have a bad season!

I would say as far as signing that actually play it would be Cotchery. Can't help it that he is being misused. The guy is a #3 at best. Need speed on the outside with him in the slot like in Pitt
