Is a staff change out of the realm of possibility now?

Doubtful.

To make matters worse, Rodgers has a completely capable coach assisting behind him. They could just promote internally.

From the press conference, the coaching staff is fully convinced their struggles on special teams were personnel related.  Not coaching.  Considering that the special teams unit was pretty strong in 2013, I'm more inclined to agree with that than I am that the struggles on offense are personnel related.

I hate Shula's play calling.  I wouldn't mind if he is fired today.  But in all fairness, he hasn't exactly had the personnel to run a successful offense either.  A rookie being your # 1 WR and Cotchery being your # 2 doesn't exactly excite offensive coordinators.  Throw in Bell as your LT...and most OC's would find it hard to be successful.  With that being said...I still wouldn't mind seeing Shula fired.

I think Ron can be pretty insecure. He knows Shula will follow orders and is not a threat to take his job. At the same time Shula could cost him his job.

Think of all those years Ron had no head coaching experience on his staff. He told us he learned and he doesn't need one anymore. But he still gets worked on gameday year after year.

Once the line came together, i found it difficult to complain about Shula. They came up with a very good game plan versus Seattle. Most people on here are big time knee jerkers who don't know what is going on and so many were blaming DG right after the Pitt loss. Now they are back to slurping again.

I think people over emphasize learning a new system. Many teams have had success learning a new system their first year. Cam was explosive his first year with Chud. If shula is going to stay it shouldn't be because learning a new system is hard

I think people under emphasize it. With cam having 5 straight years in the same system that allows him to play faster and not have to think about everything else that learning a new system requires. It's going to be second nature to him now. I really think if we add a weapon and work on the oline cam is going to have a huge year 5.

Well, I'll be thoroughly disappointed if Shula stays. Someone tell me I'm wrong and why I should appreciate him staying put.

With him as OC we are 19-12 in the regular season, twice made the playoffs and will likely have more offensive talent to run his scheme. Why switch to an unknown when the results with Shula have been better than a lot of teams in the NFL with arguably much better talent.

Rivera has gotten better in year 3 and 4. If you believe that Shula will do the same then it is only going to get better. If you don't think he will improve then you will have to suffer through at least 1 more year.

Okay, that makes sense.  We'll see.  Thanks for the info.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
