Rivera reassigns special teams coach Rodgers, promotes DeHaven

So is this Gettleman basically forcing Ron to make a change at ST coach, or did they come to the conclusion together? Either way I'm happy because it shows Gettleman won't settle for mediocrity or Rivera is actually learning.

Did you read the post?

Well, no.  There were originally like 4 or 5 threads that all got merged together when news first broke.  Scot made a comment to look up his resume... I did and found out that ever since he was blamed and fired for the Music City Miracle he's never stuck anywhere longer than a little over 2 years before getting the boot.

He was good back in the 80s and 90s but hasn't stuck anywhere more than a couple of years after being fired for the Music City Miracle?

April has bounced around a lot but is still considered excellent. ST coordinators are subject to replacement whenever a head coach is, not necessarily their own fault.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
