if i said vick striking a plea deal wasn't an admission of guilt because none of us can PROVE he would have lost the trial i'd never be taken seriously again. 

 

but just because it's a carolina panther who was convicted in a court of law and went through an entire pretrial process before paying off his accuser i'm supposed to believe he was actually playing fourth dimensional chess.

I hope everyone realizes the decision to sit Hardy was not made by the Panthers... it was 100% Goodell's call.

This is not how I wanted it to go. The perception will be this was a dubious trial and Greg got away with murder (even though he was charged with a misdemeanor). He will not be a Panther and some other team will enjoy his services for a discount rate.

Actually it happens quite a bit.  Sometimes its better to Settle than face a trial, even if you feel you have a good shot at winning. 

 

Or settle BEFORE the criminal trial and make the primary witness disappear.
