Lol, just to pile on the 49ers meltdown, reported just a few hours ago apparently their fullback Bruce Miller was arrested

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was arrested on spousal battery charges, Northern California authorities said Monday.

An arrest log for the Santa Clara police department shows the 28-year-old Miller was arrested last week at an undisclosed location.

The 49ers were looking into details, the team said Monday.

"The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Bruce Miller," general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information."

Miller didn't immediately return a call for comment.

The 27-year-old Miller spoke last fall of being newly engaged and buying a house after receiving a three-year contract extension in March 2014. The 49ers were committed to keeping a key member of their running game through the 2017 season.

Miller is a key run-blocker who cleared the way for Frank Gore's fourth consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season. He impressed the 49ers brass when he converted from college defensive end at Central Florida to NFL fullback. He earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors while becoming the school's all-time sacks leader with 36 before the 49ers selected him in the seventh round of the 2011 draft.

On a side note / 49ers FB Bruce Miller was arrested last Thursday in Santa Clara, Cal. for spousal battery. ;) The 49ers keep on keeping on

      You know, there's something about this whole JAG thing that really just drives home the idea that to some folks, these players aren't real people, just names and stats.  Of course, it goes beyond sports. We're a sad, jaded species, us humans.

      Yeah, it's just dumb. Everything is year to year. I never understood how anyone could stay engaged as a Kentucky fan or duke fan as duke became a one and done factory like Calipari made Kentucky. The thing I liked at about UNC is that we primarily focused on recruits likely to play multiple years. We'd have pur occasional one and done but most of our pros still played multiple years. And the days of the Stackhouses, Wallace, Jamison, Carter, etc. playing multiple years is just over. And now you have your role players entering the portal every year to test the waters elsewhere. I don't blame them for looking out for themselves but just personally speaking I'll run out of interest quickly trying to get to know a whole new roster year over year.
