Then they either run away or ask if they're real. Interaction with children scare me so I'll run away

Dude if I had kids that'd freak me out.  I'd go on aggro mode and be watching for them to come back.  Reminds me of when I was 10 my family and I went down to Disney World.  I got caught up in a crowd and separated on a shuttle trolly.  I knew they'd be on the next one so I just waited up at the next station for them.  Probably there 10 minutes by myself until they showed up.  But while I was there some old man came up to me and asked if I wanted to go ride some rides with him.  He was one of those old greasy dudes that was at freaking Disney Land by himself up to no good.  Even in my 10 year old mind I knew he was bad news.  I started screaming bloody murder and he ran away.  Some other family waited with me after that and I made friends with their kids and we rode Space Mountain together later that day.

I'm a lover and not a fighter....but that said, I'm pretty sure I'd really really enjoy kicking the ever loving crap out of a child molestor/abductor/ or any other asshole that did bad things to kids.

There isn't a day gone by that I haven't worried about my kids suddenly gone missing. A parents worst nightmare.

Don't know if your kids have cell phones or not but tell them to keep an eye out for the van and snap a picture of it if it comes back around. We had that happen in a neighborhood near ours and the guy was driving around during the day scouting. Also, keep an eye out on the weekends and in the evenings for a vehicle you don't recognize making driving by on different days. Another thing, might be more than you're willing to do, is check the sex offender registry in your area. Sometimes there's pictures of them and you can see what they were convicted of. If someone fits the description your kids gave you, you may be able to show them the photos, though I would recommend copying the photos separately so they don't know you're scanning a registry. my wife and I keep up with the registry anyway because of our grandkids.

when i first moved to NC from california my mom, sister and I were staying at my uncles house until my dad finished up with finances and selling our house before driving out with our poo to NC. The bus stop to school from my uncles was about a mile away. I still remember to this day a man pulling up in a station wagon and asking me if i needed a lift. I told him no i'm ok my bus stop is just up here. He said thats no problem i can drive you to the the bus stop. I remembered my mom always telling me not to talk to strangers when i was alone, which i verbatum said to that dude. (my mom also took us to a kkk gathering when we moved to NC because she wanted us to be aware of certain groups in the south. my mother is fuging crazy and a former journalist) Anyway, After i said it, I sprinted the last bit to the bus stop to meet the other kids and parents. tbf to my mother, she worked till 2am every night so she couldn't walk me to the bus stop at 630 am. But if she hadn't warned me about stuff like that i dont even know what would have happened.

I was ten fuging years old. To a certain extent its a loss of innocence even going through a situation like that. Jeremy do whatever you can so you feel comfortable again whatever that may be. My mother was absolutely terrified and I still remember feeling that fear from her so I can imagine how you're feeling.

Ive always thought that my kids won't ride the bus. I did until i got my license and know how bad it can get. There is little supervision at best. Fights, first sexual encounters, etc. all happened to me or right in front of me.
