Anyone know how much we save and the penalty for cutting Chandler?

$50k however that amount his is workout bonus so assuming he doesn't get cut until training camp and he gets the bonus by attending offseason workouts then it will actually be $0 since it will have been paid to him prior to him getting cut. He'll be on the cap for $1.15M regardless.

For those who are complaining would you rather us have Chandler and Foucault as back ups?

No let me guess you would rather us spend a few million on a injured Jake Long because he was good four years ago.

How about spend 5+ million on Barksdale?

Or we could claim a former 2nd rounder by just taking on his rookie contract of about 1 million.

This was a great move by Gettleman. He isn't going to be the starter unless he earns it and if he can beat out Reammers then he deserves to start. I don't care about what happend two years ago because that is the past.

This is the 'Godfathers' way of sifting through possible gold dust without buying the farm. Isn't it obvious by now that he will not get fleeced with high priced F.A signings that hurt the bottom line. He does the real work at the end of April. All these signings just build a base to compliment the draft.

If he has another stellar draft this year, his focus needs to be on aquiring draft picks! Fug Free Agency

I don't think that much of Martins ability so this kinda worries me that Gman thinks he can help us a lot.

Makes me think Oher and Remmers are not as highly regarded as I hoped they might be, but if we can do something with no risk, then why not

IMHO Oher and Remmers are stop gappers at best!

    • Interesting topic.  I have had a few NFL friends and one told me that he could not work out or train unless the activities and facilities were approved. AI: In many NFL contracts, certain activities are restricted, and injuries sustained during those activities can lead to the voiding of contract guarantees or even the entire contract. These restrictions often include dangerous activities like skydiving, rock climbing, or even engaging in contact sports like boxing. Additionally, injuries sustained while working out at non-team facilities or during personal recreational activities may be classified as "non-football injuries," potentially impacting the player's compensation.    Having said that, I question the reason the person filming this was not helping.  Secondly, the decision to put it on social media makes it seem a bit prearranged.  I do not think this would violate his contract, but I do think it is a bit stupid on his part in that he could be injured.
    • Doesn't make it right.  And as you put it, you wanted to ban him from being country, which is essentially policing who he is as a person lol  I get protecting the "asset", but banning people from living their life is crazy. Russell Wilson likes to play helicopter pilot.  I would deem that WAY more dangerous.  Those things scare me.  I still wouldn't want to keep him from doing it if I were his boss.  I would just try not to think about it, haha.
    • Could do better could do worse. I've seen some people very indignant over bringing him back and I can absolutely relate to the sentiment. But it's just in a backup role. He's also a good locker room presence and an effort player so for a 1 year rental in a year where we aren't going to do much it's fine. This is a development year. And there will be options if need be at the trade deadline. Besides at the end of the day we all knew a signing like this was around the corner after how drafting Mark Williams ended. He should have been our franchise center for the next several years. I don’t put that failure on the Hornets.
