And there was one more request from Holcomb: Top Pot doughnuts.

When the Panthers traveled to Seattle to play the Seahawks in last season's NFC Divisional Playoff, the rookies brought Top Pot doughnuts to the team hotel. Holcomb was a fan.

"So I told Shaq to get me a Top Pot when I get out there. I showed up at the school and of course he walked in with the doughnuts. He came through," Holcomb laughed. "I said, 'This guy is going to be great.'"

When head coach Ron Rivera called Thompson on draft night to deliver the good news, the newest Panther had a message for Holcomb.

"Tell Coach Holcomb I got his Top Pots ready."

I'm kinda curious as well.  As a foodie, I've never heard of them, but when I hear donuts,

all I hear after that is Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is the Starbucks of the donut world. Good, but others are way better if you look.

    • You must be one of these "one move away guys."
    • ESPN has a whole is just hot takes and the dumbest takes possible. That is why it sucks so badly. They intentionally drag everything down to a lightspeed retarded level so that it is unwatchable. No jounalism, no nuance, no in depth analysis....just idiot after idiot blabbering/shouting about some hot button issue that they really have no real strong opinions about until the camera is rolling.
    • Young is the overwhelming priority. We have ample time on them and it's far easier to pivot at WR than QB. Remember that 2026 is year 4 for Bryce. That is 5th year option decision time and also the prime time to attempt to regain resources if a pivot is made. The odds of gaining any assets in a trade afterwards plumment very rapidly(all this depending on performance, obviously). At the end of that cycle, now we are likely in a $45+ million territory for him to remain.  So that decision trumps all others by a mile when it comes to personnel.
