Joe Horn calls Roger Goodell "The Devil"

Former NFL player calls Commissioner Roger Goodell 'The Devil'

"Here’s what I don’t like. I don’t like what Roger Goodell is doing. He has so much power that he can almost shut people down. I just don’t like him. And I don’t like that on draft day these kids don’t know that they’re hugging the devil. I hate to see kids that are lost and then happy but they really don’t know that the man they’re hugging will rip their throat apart. If he has an opportunity to take money from them, or there’s a situation where they’re guilty before they go to court, he’ll rip them apart. And there’s nothing no one can do about it. If the owners are happy with Roger Goodell, the fans, the media, no one can take his job from him. I hate it."

You might remember Joe Horn.  He's the guy who reportedly slept with teammate Willie Roaf's wife.

(quite the angel himself, ya know)

But the CBA basically gives him absolute power. If Horn wants to blame someone, blame the player's association for signing off on it.

Don't be mad because you basically made Roger into Emperor Palpatine. And don't be surprised when he pulls an "Order 66" on you either and dissolves the senate.

And yes, I try to work Star Wars into everything. It's what I doooooooo

lol...he's the CEO of a ginormous company, and he behaves the same way as the rest of them.

I don't think players view him as that. I think they liken him to a high school vice principal. He polices about 1700 "kids" (players) and let's them know who's boss. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I think for the most part Roger is the guy that the owners want him to be.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
